I just use my Desktop computer like normal and my mouse lags (like gets stuck for split seconds). If I play a regular video anywhere the video lags and the audio gets distorted (like some robotics sound/metallic stutter sound). I've attached a video demonstrating how it seems[I'm moving my mouse because if I move my mouse, it happens even more!]. These stutters happen very frequently and while no heavy use! Meanwhile, my way less powerful AMD Laptop with a Ryzen 7 7730U CPU (no external GPU) has no such issues. This issue also is not present in Linux. Please help.

Detailed System Specs:

  • Processor: AMD Ryzen 7 7700 8-Core Processor
  • Motherboard: MSI PRO B650M-B (MS-7E28)
  • RAM: 32GB DDR5
  • Storage: Single 1TB Samsung 990 PRO NVMe M.2 SSD
  • GPU: Integrated (No external GPU)
  • Monitor: BenQ GW2491 (100Hz)
  • OS Name: Microsoft Windows 11 Pro
  • OS Version: 10.0.26200 Build 26200
  • AMD Driver Version: 26.3.1
  • Dedicated Graphics Memory set to 4GB from BIOS

Can anyone with a keen eye and alot more knowledge please let me know if there are any bottlenecks in my build that might be causes crashes?

My brother seems to think its my Psu and i should go with a 1200w but that seems crazy, my thoughts are cheaping out on the mobo might be it? No idea, any help is greatly appericated!

Pc is cleaned every 3 months with air, rests on glass and in a cool room (air con).

Drivers timeout after long sessions

I’m experiencing AMD driver timeouts after variable gaming sessions, usually ranging from 10 minutes to about an hour and a half. I analyzed the cause of these timeouts in detail by checking what’s reported in the Watchdog dumps. The issue is 100% due to an electrical problem. With stock settings runs fine.

During benchmarks on Steel Nomad, I managed to use the following settings to achieve the best performance gains:

* Undervolt: -110 mV

* VRAM overclock: +200 MHz

* Power limit: +10%

Obviously, I don’t expect these settings to be stable in actual gaming scenarios.

In-game, I tried using the following configuration:

* Undervolt: -80 mV

* Overclock: none

* Power limit: +10%

This combination caused the previously mentioned timeout after about one hour of gameplay, resulting in the creation of a Watchdog dump.

Based on my analysis, I believe the issue is due to the +10% power limit creating spikes that are too high, and combined with an undervolt of -80 mV, the GPU is unable to respond correctly.

Based on the Steel Nomad results, I don’t think I completely lost the silicon lottery. (7500 score is fine for this gpu)

Has anyone tested combinations of undervolt and power limit with prolonged testing that are stable and could be used as a reference?

Unfortunately, since the timeouts occur after about an hour, the tweaking process to find a stable configuration is very time-consuming. It would be helpful to have a working baseline from other users with a 9070 XT.

Of course, these parameters can vary from one GPU to another, but I’m curious to see other people’s results.

Thanks for your attention!

Is this Hotspot Temperature Normal ?

Computer Type: Desktop

GPU: AMD 7900 XT

CPU: RYZEN 9 7900X 8 CORE 16 THREADS

Motherboard: PRO B650-S WIFI

BIOS Version: V1.N2

RAM: 16GB CORSAIR VENGEANCE

Operating System & Version: WINDOWS 10 PRO 19042

Description of Original Problem: i Recently gave my card for RMA Cause i was having Heating issue's where my pc would shut down so they replaced the thermal pad's on the GPU, now after RMA i have two different issue's

On paper the Temperature has reduced i am playing DS2 at max settings and raytracing on and the Temperature is 57 degrees, but then i decided to check the Hotspot, The hotspot is freaking 110 Degrees

The pc won't Turn on Vertically , i have to lay it down Horizontally and then add maybe a sag bracket to the GPU or i have display disconnection issues, essentially it stays tight the RGB also lights up i can see the graphic card too on Adrenaline but when i run a game or any kind of GPU Load the Display blanks out this makes me believe there must be some kind of Connecting Issue but i could be wrong (The PCIE Lock has become loose on the Motherboard, But i have screwed

it down tightly to the Case) Before i gave my GPU for RMA it was working perfectly Fine no disconnection issues what so ever

Upon Close inspection of the Card i can clearly see thick thermal pads on the Inside

What could be wrong ? should i apply for a Replacement of the Graphic Card ? Also is my PCIE Slot broken ?

Please Suggest what shall be done am i cooked ?

GPU Hang/Timeout

Hi everyone,

Like the title says I keep having GPU hangs/timeouts. This issue was constant, happening everything 30 minutes or so across multiple games. The hangs look like: black screen, loss of power and RGB in peripherals, audio cut out, PC tower fans and RGB stay on, Windows auto reboots. I did every kind of troubleshooting you can imagine from disabling MPO, DDU clean installation, undervolting GPU, Tdrdelay (10 seconds), monitored temps, etc.. You name it, I probably tried it. Finally changed the PSU to a brand new one (wife bought and used a refurbished one-found out later that this was a bad idea so I changed to a brand new one. I’m brand new to computer building and she didn’t tell me it was refurbished until after the fact- please be kind lol).

Changing the PSU helped a lot. However, it occasionally happens but a lot less frequently (2 times) and it’s been isolated to only one game so far (The Forest). At this point I’m at a loss as to what could be causing it. I’ve returned all the settings back to factory, except I left MPO disabled. After I enabled MPO it crashed on the next gameplay so I disabled it again.

Any help is really appreciated!

40 FPS + stutters sur WoW avec AMD R97950X + 7900 XTX

Salut,

**Config :**

* CPU : AMD Ryzen 9 7950X + watercooling

* GPU : AMD RX 7900 XTX

* Carte mère : MSI B650M Tomahawk

* 64 Go RAM : DDR5 5200 MHz dual channel (EXPO activé)

* OS : Windows 11 fresh install

* Stockage : 2x1 To SSD NVMe Samsung Pro M.2

**Testé côté système/Windows (sans résultat) :**

* Windows 11 clean install + tous les drivers AMD à jour

* BIOS remis à l'état d'usine

* CpuPriorityClass à High pour Wow.exe dans le registre

* Plan d'alimentation haute performance + AMD Ryzen Balanced

* Affinité CPU forcée sur les 8 premiers cœurs avec Process Lasso et sur tous les cœurs

* Resizable BAR activé dans le BIOS et vérifié dans Adrenalin

* Toutes les options AMD Adrenalin désactivées (Chill, Boost, Anti-Lag, VSync)

* Game Mode Windows activé/désactivé

* WoW lancé en administrateur

* LatencyMon → tout vert, aucune interruption

* Températures normales (CPU : 60°C, GPU : 50°C), CPU tourne à 5.3 GHz sous charge

* PCIe x16 Gen 4 confirmé dans GPU-Z

* RAM bien à 5200 MHz (vérifié CPU-Z), dual channel confirmé

* Test avec une RTX 2070 à la place → mêmes FPS, même problème de saccade

* Accélération matérielle activée/désactivée

**Testé côté WoW (sans résultat) :**

* DirectX 11 et DirectX 12 (pareil dans les deux cas)

* Résolution de rendu à 100%, plein écran exclusif

* Tous les paramètres graphiques en low ET en ultra → aucune différence de FPS

* Optional GPU Features désactivé

* V-Sync désactivé, FPS illimité/limité

* Profil raid/donjon séparé configuré

* Réinstallation complète de WoW

* Aucun addon installé

* Cache vidé

* Multithreading actif

* CoreMask sur tous les cœurs actifs

* CoreMask sur un bloc de 8 cœurs actifs

Replacement 9070xt backplate

Hi,

I recently have purchased a second hand sapphire 9070xt nitro+ which didnt come with the magnetic backplate or the 2x6pin cable, ive managed to find a replacement cable but I've been struggling to find a backplate online.

I did contact sapphire just to see if they sell them without much luck.

Is the magnetic backplate needed? or is it more for aesthetics/keeping dust out? If anyone has a good solution, id love to know.

AMD Rewards and Linux Gamers - A Warning

This is my recent experience with AMD Rewards being a Linux user.

I hope others are not hitting this issue but thought it would be good to put down my experience as a warning

I bought a new AMD graphics card on the 9th March from a verified retailer.

I received a game code at the same time for Crimson Desert (code valid until 19th May)

I logged in to AMD Rewards, I already had an account, and registered the code.

I downloaded the script, which I knew would likely not work correctly as I have previously gone through this process for a previous graphics card, and sure enough even after making it executable it could not work out what graphics card I had.

As mentioned I have had this problem before, and resolved that by opening a support ticket.

So I did this again, opened a support ticket, explained I am on Linux and have ran the script which did not work.

First interaction was to make sure my code was valid.

Next I was asked for a copy of my invoice, nothing odd here I was asked last time, which I then provided.

These interactions took place over three days up until 12th March.

All pretty quick and much the same as my previous communications for the previous game I got.

Then radio silence.

I hear nothing for a week, I send a request for an update

Then 2 weeks. So I send a request for an update

Here we are on the 10th April, no communication, no update, after multiple requests for an update.

I do not believe I am getting the code for my game and if I go truly tin foil hat moment I suspect people at the AMD Rewards support side are probably taking them.

There does not appear to be an escalation process and no other support contacts other than the main contact address so I think at this stage I am out of luck but thought it would be good to bring it to others attention in case they are factoring in the price of the game to the cost of the graphics card as a sweetener to justify the cost, I know I was, that you might not get the game.

If anyone knows how I can escalate this it would be appreciated.
