GPU caught on fire (need help)

Had my PC for 5+ years (5700 XT, no prior issues). I was gaming when it suddenly shut off. When I tried to turn it back on, the GPU caught on fire. (Burn mark on the motherboard was from the first time I tried to reboot I did it again to get a video)

I removed the GPU and tried booting without it and nothing displayed but it did turn on and everything else seemed to be working, but I’m not sure if that’s expected with my setup.

I’m planning to replace the motherboard and GPU. Should I also replace the PSU, or is it possibly still safe to use?

GPU: Sapphire Nitro 5700xt

CPU: Ryzen 5 3600x

Motherboard: I believe a ASUS B-450M

PSU: PowerSpec 650W

Can anyone help with pc wifi drivers?

I am writing this from my phone, my pc has been showing No Internet despite the WiFi working flawlessly on phones and other laptops.

I have an HP laptop and I went to their website to download the drivers. But the fucking website says that i need to access the website from my computer to download the drivers. That is pretty ironic IMO.

I also thought that this might be a windows update problem too but i had downloaded update 3 to 4 days before this happened, so That might not be a reason too.

These two are the only things I could think of, do you guys have any other idea

What is this thing I booted into

So my system had Windows 8.1 on a small SSD, Windows 10, 11 and Fedora on my HDD. Each really had their purpose. I liked Fedora and decided to move it to my SSD instead and didn't boot windows for a while, and during that time I installed rEFInd to customize my boot and had some issues with GRUB customization prior to it.

There were 3 Windows entries shown in rEFInd, two of them leads to this thing and the one in the middle is just invalid.

I can pretty much fix the boot thing, but anyone got a clue what I got into? After all this HDD was sold as used, so I'm really curious about its former use.

PC crashes

PC crashes

My pc has been been doing this thing for years where it crashed on after startup every now and again. It just completely crashes, screen goes black and then restarts itself. Event viewer showed kernel power and whea errors which showed nothing conclusive and it could be any one of my parts.

More recently the crashes started occurring more often, on startup 3-4 times in a row before it finally worked. Then it would crash whenever my pc went to sleep so my only solution was to set my sleep timer to never and sometimes would crash during light activity like using word.

Well now, past 2 days I’ve had a different kind of crash and in games when opening menus it freezes for a second or two, usually ones that have stuff to load like player models. The new crash, when alt tabbing back into a game from another tab it froze, audio still worked. Then eventually my second monitor went black and then my main monitor had this weird pattern which I think looks like vram corruption?

I checked event viewer immediately after but there wasn’t really anything there. I’m at a loss for what to test or do next. I’ve completely uninstalled drivers (ddu) multiple times, did a complete reinstall of windows, messed with gpu clocking and settings and nothing has worked.

If anyone has any suggestions I’d be very grateful

Artifacts

My pc is a little over a month old . I have a 5070, 32 gb of ddr5 ram, a Ryzen 7 9700x, and a b850 MCI motherboard. I get this singular artifact only in Red Dead Redemption 2 and only when I enable MSAA 4x or 8x. I play a lot of different games but this has never showed up before. Is it something to worry about or should I just turn off msaa altogether and forget about it?

What PSU you are choosing?

Hey everyone, i don’t know anything about psu’s, i did some googling and i found a psu tier list, so i made those choices considering what’s available in my country, i don’t live in the US, i just transformed from my currency to dollars.

be quiet! Pure Zone 2 1000W 80PLUS Platinum: 115$

MSI MAG A1000GS PCIE5 80PLUS Gold 1000W: 250$

NZXT C1000 Gold Core ATX 3.1 80PLUS GOLD 1000W: 184$

Cooler Master MWE Gold 1050 Full Modular V2: 209$

Corsair RM1000e Gold Noir (2025): 189$

So im looking to buy one of those to complete my build

VGA & BOOT light on out of nowhere

i was playing games for awhile earlier in the day, left my pc on the desktop while i went and did my daily duties around the house. I came back and it was stuck on the boot screen… I have taken out and reseated the RAM, GPU, tried my 3060 as well as my 5700xt, inspected them (all pcie pins are good), ive cut all power including the circle battery for awhile to try to reset it. Nothing is working and i’m just so confused as to what it would even be at this point its been 2 hours of troubleshooting and i cant pin it.

CPU cooling issue

Hello, just recently switched from a cooler master cpu cooler to a nzxt kraken, for some reason I spaced that my psu didn’t have a female sata port.

All in all my fans work just waiting for the display sata cable to come in but could that be the reason my cpu temps are high? Because nothing is plugged into my cpu yet?

RAM incompatibility?

I'm testing a kit for my friend, (klevv bolt v 6400, 2x16) and strangely they work individually but not together in dual channel. I've tested all combinations, including one of mine and one of his, etc. It doesn't seem to post unless it's a single stick by itself no matter what slot it is in. Any ideas?

FPS issues no clue why

My Hardware:

CPU AMD Ryzen 9 3900X

GPU ASUS ROG STRIX RTX 4090 GAMING OC

RAM G.Skill F-4 3000C16 2x16GB

Mobo ASUS ROG STRIX X570-E GAMING

So i play Tarkov and i barly hit 40 FPS on max settings and on minimum settings between 50-60 FPS. CPU load is about 30-40% and GPU around 50%. CPU temp about 50C° and GPU temp 50-60C°. RAM temp is at 40C° and about 60-70% of usage. I run the game on a HDD and HWinfo say's it's on about 40C° and while i play it say's read is between 0-4% and on avverage at about 40%.

I have no clue what to do to get more fps out. I set the cap to 120 FPS in the game. I updated all drivers, restarted my PC couple of time's. Closed things running in the background. But nothing seems to improve it or make it worse.

Any advice what i could do?

Pc software issue?

Every time I open Valorant it will not start, then I’ll try ending task in task manager. Then task manager will stop responding. Then sometimes my pc will start beeping every time I move my mouse, and my pc would freeze and I would have to force restart. I deleted and reinstalled vanguard. I reinstalled windows. I reinstalled Valorant. I was able to open other games such as Hogwarts Legacy just fine before opening Valorant, but when I tried opening it after, it would do the beeping thing. Also, my other games are super crunchy even though previously it would run smoothly. I believe it’s a software issue as I got a new motherboard, and all my other parts seemed fine. I don’t believe it’s a cooling problem either as they’re all running at about 80 C.

I have a Ryzen 7 7700X and a Radeon 6700 xt
