Donnie Iris - Ah! Leah!

If there was some movie where at least part of it is set in Pittsburgh in 80/81, this is the song you play with the establishing shot.

Also, I think Donnie went to the same 80’s hair stylist as Eugene Levy.

Belinda Carlisle - Mad About You (Live at the Roxy)

I think the story on this song was that it was made for a Go-Go’s album but then the group pooped out, so it was recycled. You can definitely tell on the studio recording because the backing vocals she dubs on the chorus - mad about you (mad about you) <—this part - was written with Jane Weidlin’s voice in mind, but Go-Gos broke and so Belinda dubbed all the parts herself.

Deftones - Hexagram 📀 (2003)

🎶"Hexagram"🎶 is a song by American 🇺🇲 alternative metal band Deftones. It was the second💿single released from their eponymous fourth studio album. The cover art for the single is a work titled "Bandaged Love" by artist Elliott Rae.

The black-and-white music video 🎬 for 🎶"Hexagram"🎶 showed excited fans entering a building to watch a live performance of the song. As such, the majority of the video focused on this performance, with small exceptions like a shirtless, incapacitated Chino🎙Moreno lying on the floor during the moody bridge. Audio for the video was taken entirely from the studio recording until the very end, which featured live crowd noise 🤘🏻

In contrast to the single's 💿 minimal radio play, the "Hexagram" video 🎬 earned significant rotation on the more underground-oriented Headbangers Ball and Uranium in late 2003.

In reviewing Deftones, Stephen Thomas Erlewine of AllMusic wrote that 🎶"Hexagram"🎶, the album's opener, "hits hard—harder than they ever have, revealing how mushy Staind is, or how toothless Linkin Park is".

The Style Council - Why I Went Missing 📀

🎶"Why I Went Missing"🎶 is a song by the British pop band 🇬🇧 The Style Council, released on June 24, 1988. It appeared as the second track on the B-side of their fourth studio album, *Confessions of a Pop Group* 📀.

In contrast to the album's often politically charged or experimental tracks, 🎶"Why I Went Missing"🎶 is described as a sunny, optimistic song. The music magazine Spin cited it as an example of Paul Weller's 🎙 ability to "find light in the darkness" and to reflect on himself.

The song was written and produced by Paul Weller and Mick Talbot. In addition to Weller (🎙 & 🎸) and Talbot (🎹), Dee C. Lee (🎙), Camelle Hinds (bass), and Steve White (🥁) contributed to the song.

The song is also part of the comprehensive 2020 best-of collection "Long Hot Summers: The Story of The Style Council." 📀

The Style Council - How She Threw It All Away 📀

🎶"How She Threw It All Away"🎶 is a song by the British band 🇬🇧 The Style Council, released in 1988 as the second single from their fourth studio album, *Confessions of a Pop Group* 📀.

The song was released on July 11, 1988, by Polydor Records. It appeared in various formats, including as part of the EP *A Summer Quartet*.

It is the eighth track (or track 3 on side B) of *Confessions of a Pop Group* 📀.

The single reached 📈 number 41 on the UK 🇬🇧 Singles💿Chart.

In addition to Paul Weller (🎙& 🎸) and Mick Talbot (🎹), jazz flautist Dick Morrissey made a significant contribution to the track.

Lyrically, the song is considered a retrospective reflection on Weller's first long-term relationship with Gill Price. It was written shortly after his marriage to singer Dee C. Lee.

The song is often described as "jaunty" and contrasts with the more melancholic, classically inspired tracks on the first side of the album. It combines elements of sophist pop and jazz.

Critics 📰 today often refer to the track as a "lost Weller classic." Reviewers at If My Records Could Talk include it among the band's 25 best songs, while writers at Three Monkeys Online highlight the elegant production of the late 1980s.

Collectors can find various editions, such as the Japanese mini-CD, in specialized music box sets.
