Donnie Iris - Ah! Leah!
If there was some movie where at least part of it is set in Pittsburgh in 80/81, this is the song you play with the establishing shot.
Also, I think Donnie went to the same 80’s hair stylist as Eugene Levy.

I think the story on this song was that it was made for a Go-Go’s album but then the group pooped out, so it was recycled. You can definitely tell on the studio recording because the backing vocals she dubs on the chorus - mad about you (mad about you) <—this part - was written with Jane Weidlin’s voice in mind, but Go-Gos broke and so Belinda dubbed all the parts herself.
Seriously, I’ve never met a Matt or Mike who had problems getting into relationships.
Am I crazy? Someone reading this post who’s the exception drop a comment telling me I’m crazy, please.
Moonglows cover. Aaron Neville on vocals. The whole album is fire with some “The Meters” classics, covers and original songs. All studio level quality. One of Keith Richard’s favorite albums of 1981. My personal recommendations are their cover of Jimmy Cliff’s “Sitting Here in Limbo”, this song and “Mona Lisa.”
Side Project for Apollonia 6 that was gifted instead to the Bangles. Personally, I know it didn’t fit the sound of Purple Rain, and it was like Rumours in that, every song on the album banged but….he should have thrown it the F in anyway. More hits!
Prince classic. If you haunted the skate rinks in the 80’s - THIS was the jam that you’d hear in 84/85 and it would light up the floor.
