[Bloom & Rage] How do we forget this game?

[Bloom & Rage] How do we forget this game?

To preface, I know this is just a game. Don't read too much into the following. Good art of any kind is made to make us feel though, and I'm simply just feeling it. And I know many of you are, too.

---

The most foretelling thing about Bloom & Rage that has stuck with me since I finished it (and then again, and then again) is that quote from near the end of the game:

"The only way we can protect ourselves is if we forget..."

In the same ways the girls had to forget to protect themselves, those of us who were deeply moved by this game have to almost try to forget it in order to get on with our lives. But I can't get it out of my head. And truthfully, I don't want to forget it. Of all my years in playing games, I've never had a story cause so many emotions at once, and with so much staying power. I want to keep feeling how this game made me feel, as overwhelming as it is at the moment. More than that though, I want to know what happens next! But with no tape 3 or update or murmur of a new game in the works, we may have to be happy with what we were given. To find peace with the fact that we may never know what happens next. Is this an allegory for life maybe? Something akin to "better to have loved and lost than to not have loved at all?" I don't know. I'm just rambling through the feelings.

But I won't forget this one any time soon.

Currently dealing with the "sense of longing" stage of grief now that the game is over. It will pass, it's happened before. But yeah. I understand some of the criticisms of this game to a point, but I thought that overall it was an extremely special experience. This shot shattered me when the main menu loaded after the final scene, though. What the heck am I supposed to do now? *sobs*>!!<

So yesterday I was at the Perfume Passage in Illinois, US. Many of you may know of this place because of the famous Erin Parsons video on youtube (highly recommend you check it out if you haven't seen it, its outstanding! just search 'Erin Parsons Perfume Passage' and it will come up). The entire experience was insanely magical from start to finish, a true fragrance lovers dream.

Anyways, at one part of the tour, we were allowed to see one of Napoleon's actual perfume flasks, and a literal, molecular recreation of one of Napoleon's perfumes that was recovered in a still liquid state. The smell was gorgeous; light and fresh, a bit floral and even some bright citrus notes. It was fleeting, but absolutely delightful. There is only one company in France with the rights to this recipe, but they currently seem to not be delivering to the US.

I'm just trying to gather all the information I can on this fragrance or chat with anyone who has an experience with it as well. It's a shame I can't post photos here of the bottle, but I will transpose all of the text from the bottle and box into this post.

--

The bottle itself was very plain, not at all like the green labeled fragrance I've been able to find online and what appears to be their website. It's a normal rectangular glass bottle with a gold atomizer, with a black sticker on the front. The sticker has a bullseye on it, with red/white/blue and a gold center. The text is white and reads "Le Bicorne de Napoléon Cologne" on it. Nothing else is on the label.

The front of the box is equally as simple in design, with the same text on the front and the bullseye logo.

One side of the box has more text that reads: Freely inspired by Napoleon I favorite cologne, this twenty-first century fragrance would have seduced the Emperor by aromatic reminiscence of Corsica: citrus, orange blossom, myrtle, rosemary, thyme and cistus.
Made in France
50ml e 1.7 FL OZ

The reverse side says the same text, but in French and mentions the ALARH Group.

I have sent messages to the Maisons-Laffitte Tourism instagram and also another site I found what claimed to be Napoleon's cologne but haven't heard anything back, probably because it's the weekend or because they can't be bothered lol
