show me your lover boys!!!
this is Rudy, and he is my velcro baby, craft-time helper, full-time cuddler, momma’s boy.
[CHAT] what sealant would be best for sealing a thin layer of acrylic paint on a wood hoop?
these are my only two options, water-based polyurethane or the original mod podge. this will be for indoor use only, but i want to make the hoop look glossy. thanks!
EDIT: i found Krylon Kamar Varnish in my husband’s stuff!! surely this would be a better choice than these two?
why is my machine doing this?
i’m trying to embroider this patch (first picture), and i’ve completed it before (last picture), but trying to do it again, my machine is converting the satin stitch objects to fill stitch (middle picture). the same exact file i have open in Hatch is the one that i have open in my Singer app.
thank you again u/QuirkyDeal4136 💖
edit: there IS a satin stitch border on this so i promise it won’t fray apart, but the lighting isn’t great at capturing it
remember when i posted this logo asking if working it into satin stitch was even worth it?! u/QuirkyDeal4136 took that as a challenge and produced this beautiful piece for me!! such an intricate design, but look at that result! i can’t thank you enough! as soon as i get my hands on some iron-on stabilizer, this is going front and center on my favorite hoodie, in a BRIGHT neon orange! i’m way too excited!!!! 🤩
for the sake of simply separating the colors, i am trying to set the font to blue, the background to green, and the border to red. the font was manually converted to a satin stitch with no fill. do i have to turn the fill back on in order to maintain the colors? since i had to manually convert the font, the fills are all broken open and can't just simply be turned back on. opening the design in Hatch, you can see the color changes are all wonky.
additionally, when i go to the inkstitch params to watch this stitch out, all the colors are correct.
i’ve separated out the font and adjusted the alignment slightly to prepare it for a satin stitch finish, next i’ll be cleaning up the remaining black bits around the font to make up the background image which will be completed as a fill stitch. this will be dayssss of work, but if it weren’t for yall pushing me to learn how to make satin stitch objects, i wouldn’t have been able to even start! so, thank you to this wonderful community for encouraging growth. can’t wait to update yall again soon!
trying to separate out the font from the background image to digitize this into an embroidery file. is this even a font or just custom art?
thanks!
i want to embroider this on my sweater but the design is so intense, i’m thinking of just going with a fill stitch or meander stitch for fun. would you take the time to convert this to satin? i’ve considered just a satin stitch border but since it will just be on a sweater, i don’t think the border is very necessary.
