Question on older cameras like GX800(GF9), E-PL5/6/7 - size and straight out of camera jpg quality

Hey there. I want a tiny body to pair with tiny primes like 14/2.5, 17/1.8, 20/1.7 and such, something that easily slides in and out of a coat pocket.

My wife actually has an E-PL5 which I'm kind of using as a reference and it is the perfect size. My questions are kind of all over the place but I'll try to keep them organized lol.

  1. I'm worried about annoyance of avoiding shutter shock with the E-PL5/6, the E-PL7 has EFCS and 3-axis IBIS which is nice, but I'm wondering how much larger than the E-PL5 it is. Online measurements are hard to go by because my measuring tape shows the E-PL5 as different from the specs I see online.
It might seem silly, but I've held an E-P7 and it's bigger than I'd like. Each new model is slightly bigger than the last and its a slippery slope up to that lol.
    .
I guess am wondering if I am overthinking the size difference between an EPL5/6 and 7 or is it noticeable?

  2. Another option is the GX800/GF9. I am wondering how straight out of camera JPGs are for this. I did own a GX9 at one point but I honestly only ever shot RAW so I have no idea what the JPGs are like. I know with all of the Olympus profiles, especially the muted one, contrast/saturation/sharpness/curve options and ability to add mysets to the PASM dial that there's a good amount you can do even with an old body. I'm worried that an older Lumix might not be as flexible and will have ugly JPGs out of camera.
    .
So anyone have an older Lumix like this and can let me know what the options are like for JPGs?

  3. On the GX800, does the wheel on the back work like a D-Pad to adjust ISO/Exp comp, etc...? I've read that you have to rotate it to adjust these things and that it feels terrible to do so.
