Anyone else feel guilty about how bad their real world mpg is compared to the sticker?

i bought a newish crossover last year partly because of the advertised 32 mpg highway. in reality im lucky to see 23-24 mixed with my commute and errands. its mostly stop and go plus some highway but nothing crazy. i keep the tires inflated and dont floor it but the number on the dash just keeps disappointing me.

feels like every trip adds to this little eco guilt trip. anyone else in the same boat or do you actually hit close to the rated numbers? what driving habits or car choices actually made a difference for you?

First pc build for video editing and 1440p gaming, how does this list look?

hey. im a college student saving up for my first pc build. mainly need it for video editing in premiere and some 1440p gaming on the side. budget around 1100-1300 usd. heres what im looking at: ryzen 5 7600, rtx 4070, 32gb ddr5, 1tb nvme, decent b650 board and a good airflow case.

i watched a bunch of videos but still nervous about compatibility and if im overspending in one area. should i go cheaper on the gpu for now or is this balanced? any swaps youd make for better editing performance? thanks a lot, really want this to last through uni.

IsItBullshit: wearing blue light glasses all day for eye strain

i started wearing those blue light blocking glasses nonstop at my desk job because everyone says they stop eye strain and headaches from screens. ive been doing it for a few weeks now and my eyes still feel tired by the end of the day. sometimes i get headaches anyway and taking them off doesnt make much difference.

they werent too pricey but now im wondering if theyre just placebo. do these glasses actually help or is it mostly hype for people who stare at monitors?

We booked our cruise only 3 months out and now im panicking

My husband and i are in our mid 40s and this is our first cruise, a 9 night to Alaska leaving in August. We got a really good deal booking only 3 months ahead because prices dropped but now im seeing all these posts saying you should book a year in advance for the best cabins and excursions.

im worried we missed out on better options or that everything good will be sold out by now. He thinks im stressing over nothing since we saved money. Did we mess up by waiting or is it still going to be fine this close to sailing?

Started getting weird artifacts in games and blender after 1.5 years of solid use

hey. my build is a ryzen 7 5700x, rtx 4070, 32gb ddr4 that i put together for freelance 3d work and gaming. it ran perfectly until about 2 weeks ago when i started seeing random colorful artifacts in games and sometimes in blender renders. no bsod yet but im worried.

already updated gpu drivers, ran memtest overnight with no errors, and checked temps which are fine. could the gpu be dying already or is it something else like psu? any tests i should run next before i start swapping parts? thanks in advance.

First cruise soon and im terrified of getting seasick the whole time

Me and my girlfriend are doing a 8 night Alaska cruise in a couple months. Its our first one and im really excited but ive always had bad motion sickness even on ferries. i get dizzy just thinking about days at sea.

We picked Alaska partly for the scenery but now im worried ill be stuck in the cabin popping dramamine or throwing up. She says itll be fine and the ships are stable but i keep reading mixed stories. Has anyone dealt with this bad and still had a good time or should i look into other options like patches or something before we sail?
