Really enjoying this.

Really enjoying this.

As much as I’d expected. So much so, that 2 days into wearing this and I’ve placed my order for the SPB377

GMTs are my favorite watches. Definitely did not want to go GMT out of the gate for this model. Wanted the classic green dial Alpinist. But for sure the GMT would be my second. 😂

[SPB121] Finally. A long time coming.

No idea why I waited so long. I think this is one of the more stunning watches available at any price point.

I think what happened is my son has recently gotten into watches. So he and I have been sharing pics of different watches and discussing them recently. And thinking about watches in his price point, my head went to this and I remember wanting it for myself. So I finally added it to my collection.

Pretty inexpensive, and an entry movement, but stunning as it gets. Glad I finally grabbed it.

Good afternoon!

I’ve long wanted the Seiko Alpinist, and for no good reason I can come up with, I’ve never bought it.

I’ve corrected that.

Good afternoon!

Went “Gen” today. Man, I loved this watch when I bought it almost 30 years ago. I remember thinking it was expensive. Probably around $500, when I grabbed it.

Bought my son a Timex recently and it’s had me going down memory lane. That walk down memory lane triggered a purchase today of a Seiko Alpinist that I’ve wanted forever and finally decided it was silly that I’d never added it to my collection.

….and I am a frankenholic.

2 of my 3 Pepsi bezels, and I just grabbed my 4th Batman/Batgirl bezel. 😂

The Batman/Batgirl parts are no big deal, but I’m really glad to get my hands on the discontinued Pepsi parts.

Just ordered my son his first GMT, and I’m really excited about it. Looks like a long wait. Delivery will be October. But this is a ‘26 Christmas gift, so the timing works out well.

My son has a very small watch collection. The beginnings of a collection, I should say. This will be his third watch. Selfishly, I can’t wait to get this one in hand. I find it stunning.

I’m sure that many of you have held out and held out, sort of interested in a watch but not sure you’d really like it, and then after pulling the trigger you realized how impressed you are with the watch and pleased that you finally jumped.

Such is the case with me and the 5168g Jumbo Khaki green.

I’ve had other Patek replicas. Have enjoyed them. Have a couple of 5711’s that I’ve always found extremely comfortable to wear. Had a 5712 but with a bad movement and never cared about it enough to deal with that. But none on a rubber strap like this, and in general I’m just not a straps guy.

But whatever. When you have a collection in the state mine is in, you’ve long had everything high on your list, and are in the “let’s give it a go!” mode with models farther down your list.

And so here we are.

Picked this one up with white gold plating and the SW package for the Datewheel, dial, hands and straps. Visually, these components are a huge improvement over the factory watch. Figured if I was going to go here, I’d go all the way. 😂

First impressions are love at first usage.

Love the color. It’s colorful but not bright. I’m not a bright colors guy, just like I’m typically not a straps guy.

Love the movement! This thing is silk.

For a large watch, it’s extremely comfortable. I took my time and was very deliberate in sizing it. Measure twice, cut once kind of thing. Except in this case it was cut many times with small adjustments until just right.

I’m really excited for this one. Has a great presence. It’s a fun watch, super casual.

Yes, it’s also a 6 figure genuine watch. But I wear what I like and I like this one, and I’m glad I didn’t wait any longer.

I am a big fan of both the Batgirl and the Batman, and wear them both frequently. But I only had a Pepsi on Jubilee.

While my Pepsi is with my watch smith and unavailable, I picked up a VSF on oyster for the collection. Ultimately this will be built out into a franken. Already have the Gen bezel and bracelet for it. Will take my time to gather the rest of the parts and build it towards the end of the year. But for now, I’m enjoying it in its full replica state.

Having several builds with all genuine bezels, I can confirm what others have said about the VSF bezel: it is pretty good. Far closer to the genuine feel than my Clean GMTs ever felt.
