Still hasn't lost any of it's magic...only thing I wish they would've used a solid caseback and scraped of a mm or two from the thickness...the movement isn't rly flashy that it would need an exh. caseback 😅

Recently picked up the 500-piece limited edition Seiko Prospex Night of Siam SPB487J1 — and I’m seriously impressed.

The dial is the star: a rich orange textured sunburst that shifts beautifully in the light, paired with contrasting seconds and GMT hands. It’s inspired by Thai sunsets and golden temple spires at night — and honestly, it looks even better in person than in photos.

Specs aside, this is a really well-thought-out piece:

Diver + GMT functionality (true “desk diver meets travel watch” combo)

120-click ceramic bezel with solid action

Internal GMT ring, color-coded for day/night tracking

72-hour power reserve (Seiko’s 6R54 movement)

Sapphire crystal + 200m water resistance

Sharp case finishing with Zaratsu-like polished bevels that catch the light nicely

Also worth noting: the relatively compact wear for a GMT diver, and that classic Seiko lume — bright and long-lasting.

For a limited run of 500, it feels surprisingly under-the-radar for what it offers in terms of design, versatility, and finishing.

I don't know the exact model but my grandpa had this one for decades, now I wear it. The day is shown in Spanish which is nice. Grandpa was a trucker in the Chilean Patagonia so I like to think this watch has seen a lot of things.

Since 2022 this was one of my aunt's watches. She gave it to me earlier since she was downsizing and this was one of the least worn in her rotation. After a strap change, I'm loving how it looks~

Since this is a diver's watch, I plan to take this swimming next week during a beach trip with friends. However I did see a bunch of gunk as shown in pics 3 & 4. Watch shop guy told me it wasn't rust and just needed light brushing/cleaning and metal polishing.

Are they right with their diagnosis?

Recently picked up this Seiko Lord Matic 5606-7300 and honestly didn’t expect it to hit this hard in person.

The violet dial is already special, but paired with the faceted crystal it just transforms completely under light. It’s not even a sunburst—more like this layered, wave-like texture that shifts depending on angle. Sometimes it looks deep plum, sometimes brighter violet, and the crystal kind of breaks the light across the surface in a really satisfying way.

It’s one of those watches that’s hard to capture in photos. On wrist, it just keeps changing.

70s Seiko really knew how to play with texture and light, and this is a perfect example of that.

I just got the Seiko save the ocean monster, and it's gorgeous. I love it. Apart from the rattly bracelet! I was prepared for this and it's not a problem, been scoping alternates for months, only thing is: what would actually fit the lugs? I want a 20mm thick chunky hexad or engineer style brushed steel that integrates into the watch with that weird half moon final link. looking at the strapcode website there's a lot of ones like this, BUT NOT for the SRPH75K1.

I'm happy to buy from AliExpress etc or Amazon. UK based. Appreciate any ideas or advice!

The watch obsession has hit and I decided the King Turtle is a great starting place for a daily. It also came with the original silicone strap but my spring bar tool hasn't arrived yet, excited to try that on!

I picked up this SARX123 (SPB465 “Sensaicha”) on a recent trip to Japan at Nakano Broadway; going there felt like a pilgrimage to me.

I originally went in looking for an Alpinist, but the ones I tried on felt smaller on my wrist than I expected, probably because I was used to wearing a huge Galaxy Watch 4 Classic 😅

Ended up going with this instead and I’m really glad I did. I’ll admit I sometimes get tempted by flashier pieces like the Cocktail Time or some of the blue Presage models, but this wins me over every time and works with every outfit.

Every time I look at my wrist, it takes me right back to that trip.

I bought this on eBay for £107 this week and I think it's really neat.

I'd previously sold my black 39mm Seiko 5 Sport but I missed having a basic Seiko field watch. Because this one was so cheap, I thought I'd take a bit of a leap of faith on something a bit less conventional.

I really like the textured dial, the splash of blue on the Saturday date and the red on the second hand. At 36mm it's smaller than I usually wear, but the NATO strap makes up for some of this. It's really comfortable and I think will make a fun summer watch.

if you're on the fence about trying a new style or something less conventional, try it second hand.

Thought the dial would be too bling, but in person it looks so much better than photos.

Having owned & sold the SJE101 for an SLA017, I can’t deny how the classic dial & bezel insert of the 62mas looks so much better, that said, the case & bezel of the SJE is just on another level.

Couldn’t help but wonder what a combination of the two looked like so ended up getting AI to make me a render, what ya’ll think?
