I usually do traditional designs, but a customer recently came to me with a unique request. He wanted to surprise his wife for their anniversary by "re-imagining" their wedding photo.

They both love Anime, so we redrew their favorite wedding moment in that classic studio style and hand-carved it directly into a premium leather wallet.

No machines, no printing, just days of meticulous hand-carving and painting.

When he gave it to her, she was floored. It’s no longer just a wallet; it’s a piece of their story they can carry every day.

I’ve been working with leather for years, but nothing tests your patience like carving fur.

Leather carving is hard, but animal portraits are on a whole different level. Every single strand of hair matters.

Take a look at this lion. The mane alone took me over 12 hours of constant, repetitive work. You can’t just "draw" it; you have to carve each layer to give it that 3D flow and texture. One slip of the swivel knife and the whole expression of the lion is ruined.

I’m tired of seeing $1,000 wedding gifts that have zero soul. So I spent 20 hours carving a memory into leather instead.

This is a hand-carved portrait of a couple's wedding photo, reimagined in a minimalist animation style on a premium leather wallet. No lasers, no machines—just a swivel knife and a lot of patience in my workshop.

Why it’s special:

  • Tactile Memory: You can literally feel the texture of the bride's veil and the groom's suit under your thumb.
  • The "Patina" Symbolism: I used Veg-tan leather. Just like a marriage, it matures and gets more beautiful with age.
  • One of One: There is only one of these in existence.

I spent 20+ hours on this piece to get every detail right. If you were the groom, would this mean more to you than a check or a gadget? I’d love to hear your thoughts!

I tried to "trap" a kitten inside a piece of leather. Here is the 7-day transformation.

I’ve always felt that traditional leather carving looks a bit... flat. So, for my latest project, I wanted to see how far I could push the 3D realism.

The goal was to capture that specific "liquid" look kittens have when they’re rolling around. It started with a simple sketch on tracing paper, followed by hours of beveling to get the depth, and finally, tiny strokes to mimic the soft fur. The hardest part? Painting the eyes to make them look like they’re actually staring back at you.

It's not perfect, but seeing him "pop" out of the leather after a weeks of work was incredibly satisfying. What do you guys think? Is the 3D effect convincing enough?
