Would love to meet other people into this JD work - based in SW UK

I’m relatively new to the work, only been doing it on and off for about a couple of years, would love to meet some other people into person to chat about the work and compare experiences. Does anyone know of any ways to connect with other people into this work? 😄

34M - Somerset / Bristol - Looking for friends for sidequests, adventures and making memories

Most of my friends are deep in the family and work era of life, which is great for them but leaves me short on adventure buddies. I’m looking for people who actually want to get out and do things together.
Hikes, swims, new restaurants, food festivals, bouldering, archery, raves, gigs. Whatever sounds fun, I’m in. The goal is just to make some memories and actually get the most out of life while we can.
If you’re free after work, on weekends, or willing to take the occasional sneaky day off, let’s hang.

Looking for a co-founder with experience in the pet space

I’ve got a startup in the pet space, just about to launch and i’m looking for someone with experience in the pet industry, I’ve owned various pets over my life but not had inside experience in the space. I’m a mix of marketing, sales and technical although any tech knowledge would be great too!

I help run Somerset Sidequests, a community for people in Bristol and Somerset who are up for getting out and doing things together. We’re mostly 20s and 30s and the whole vibe is pretty simple: if someone in the group is doing something fun and wants others to join, they post it as a “sidequest”.

That means the group calendar is basically built by the members. Some recent examples of the kind of things we get up to:
🥾 Group hikes (we have one this Saturday!)
🍕 Food festivals and markets
☕ Casual social meetups
🎉 Random fun stuff people dream up

There’s no pressure to come to everything, just show up when something takes your fancy.
If you’re new to the area, looking to meet people, or just want a low-key excuse to get out more, come join us.

We’re heading into the wild this weekend and you should absolutely come with us.

We’re still debating the destination. Current contenders are:

🌿 The Mendip Hills rolling views, big skies, proper countryside energy

🌾 Quantock Hills heather, deer, and arguably the best ridge walk in Somerset

🌊 Ebbor Gorge ancient limestone gorge, total hidden gem vibes

Whichever one wins, it’s going to be a great day out. We’re a mostly 20s-30s crew from Bristol and Somerset, friendly, not too serious, just people who’d rather spend Saturday outside than on the sofa.

No experience needed. Just bring decent shoes, water, and good chat.
📅 This Saturday
📍 TBC, drop a comment or DM us and we’ll add you to the group chat where the final location vote is happening!
Who’s in? 👇

Here’s the edited version, same structure but filled in with the right voice and content:

Hey everyone! I’m u/ushuaia-tava, a founding moderator of r/somerset_sidequests.

This is the home for people in their 20s-30s across Somerset and Bristol who actually want to get out and do stuff. Food festivals, hikes, game nights, new restaurants, weird events, anything that could become a story later.

What to Post
Anything and everything. Spotted a cool event? Post it. Went somewhere great and want to go back with people? Post it. Looking for someone to split a festival ticket with? Post it. This is a community for doers, not scrollers.

Community Vibe
Good energy only. We’re here to meet people, make plans and actually follow through on them. No flaking, no lurking, just people who want to create some lore.

How to Get Started
1. Introduce yourself in the comments below.
2. Post an event, a place, or an idea today.
3. If you know someone who’d fit in here, bring them along.
4. Want to help moderate? Reach out to me directly.

Thanks for being part of the first wave. Let’s make some memories.

You know that thing where you spend Sunday scrolling through events, restaurants opening, food festivals, cool walks... and then just don't go? Yeah. This group is the antidote to that.

I started Somerset Side-quests for people in their 20s-30s who want to get out, meet people they didn't already know, and actually make memories instead of just planning to.

The vibe:

- Food festivals, markets, new restaurants opening

- Hikes and walks (the kind with a good pub at the end)

- Game nights, weird events, whatever looks fun

- Anything that could become a story later

No lurkers. No people who heart the message and then cancel same-day. Doers only.

We cover Somerset and Bristol. If you're in the area and you're a yes-person (the good kind), join here:

Lore is waiting to be created.

Vou colocar algumas fotos abaixo.

Alguém reconhece esta marca ou sabe quem fabrica estes óculos?

Qualquer ajuda seria muito apreciada 🙏

Bit of a long shot but hoping someone recognises these.

I bought these wooden sunglasses from a small shop called Kayiroo in Aljezur (Algarve) and they’re honestly the best frames I’ve ever owned.

I can’t find the brand anywhere online. The engraving on the side looks like “Soalera” (or something close), and there’s a small tree logo on the end of the arm.

I’ve tried searching different variations and tracking down the shop, but no luck so far.

I’ll attach photos below.

Does anyone recognise this brand, or know who might make these?

Any help would be hugely appreciated 🙏
