Hi everyone,

I’m a Ukrainian girl looking for a host in the UK under the «Homes for Ukraine».

I stayed in Ukraine for as long as I could, but my area has experienced many drone attacks. Recently, a strike hit the apartment next to mine while I was at home. I was very lucky to survive, but after that I have strong anxiety and symptoms of PTSD.

Since then, I have had serious trouble sleeping, I react to every loud sound, and sometimes I am not even able to go to the shelter with my cat during air raids because I am afraid I might lose consciousness due to the sounds of rockets and drones.

I realised that I can no longer stay here and need to move to a safer place.

I am calm and responsible, and I truly want to build a life, work, and study in the UK, because I feel this country would be great for fast integration.

I would be very grateful for any help, advice, or a potential host.

Like the title says ^^ I'd really love to hit the ground running with building my life back up in Bristol - catch up on anything I missed, find a nice dnd group, and so on.

I'm (24f) newish to the city and haven't been able to get out and meet many people yet due to life events. I'm finally ready to get myself out there, but I'm finding that a lot of events, and especially bookclubs, tend to be full already!

Can anyone point me toward some groups that are accepting newbies? I would be most interested in bookclubs, though I also like crafts, video/games, walking, movies...women's-only groups would also interest me! Thank you :)

Getting the park and ride long Ashton for the first time on Thursday. Just wondering how they know if I've gotten the bus or not? How does it work? If I buy the ticket on the app how would they know if the car is mine and not charge me for not getting the bus? Could I also just leave my car there, pay for parking, and walk to my destination from there? So confused lol

I've had a pretty rough few years and i'm really looking to get a few things out so I can move forward. I have signed up for CBT but i've done it in the past and it didn't go very well for me, I think I really need to be able to see somebody. Does anybody have any good recommendations? Thanks :)

I was at castle park for 4/20 earlier with 2 of my friends and we were playing with a slightly deflated basketball kicking it between us, and a girl came and joined us. She looked as though she just wanted some friends to attach herself to and her name was Sarah from Wales. Around 19/20 years old with a very thick accent, I told her my name (Tom). She left in a hurry and one of my mates apparently said that she said "I won't continue making a fool of myself" to which I felt absolutely terrible and I didn't mean to make her feel that way at all. I was wondering if she was kicking around this subreddit at all and to say sorry. I didn't mean to make you feel like a stranger x

Will be 5-8pm on a Wednesday and needs to be central in Bristol.

Salut, I moved here recently from Australia, and I’m slowly figuring out the city.

I’m on my 40s, French, located in the city center, single, and looking to branch out a bit. Most of what I find online seems aimed at students or tourists, so I’m looking for ideas on where the 30–45 crowd actually goes that isn’t just a loud club or a quiet living room. The only decent places i like to hang out is Seemus Odonnell, but it's crowded, and it always feel awkward because i go there alone.

Into fitness/training, hiking, astrophotography (hard in Bristol...), good food, and would be up for meeting new people or joining some groups.

Any recommendations for decent spots or bars ? Or if anyone is in a similar boat and wants to grab a drink, let me know, or just send a PM.

Recently joined the ramblers society and although lovely people they don’t allow dogs (which I understand). Having to get up take the dog for a walk, drop her home, go for a hike and then come back to take her out again doesn’t work practically for me, also she loves a nice long country walk. Are there any dog friendly walking/hiking groups?

Coming home from work and noticing a lot of kids in rave gear walking around the centre drinking tinnies. Was wondering if there’s a big event on today or something?

Not complaining, more power to them! Just intrigued as it’s 3:30 on a Monday
