Hi, I’m based in Kochi and planning to start a small Carnatic listening club.

Idea is simple: a weekly 90-120 minute session where we sit together and listen to Carnatic music.

It could be old masters or contemporary recordings, and just experience it together. Maybe some light discussion too after the session.

I have a comfortable space and can host around 8-10 people. It’s completely free, just a shared interest in the music.

Your knowledge of Carnatic music doesn’t matter. But please DM only if you’re genuinely passionate about listening to this form of music.

If this works well, it could even grow into something more like hosting intimate chamber concerts in the future.

If you’re interested, drop a comment or DM.

They have the worst service staff. Nobody seems to know their job, and everyone looks clueless. You can go unattended for hours unless you wave or call someone loudly. Even after ordering, random staff keep coming up to take your order again, and you end up saying “already ordered” at least 10 times.

This isn’t a one-time issue. The food is pretty decent, and it’s very close to my workspace, so I still go occasionally. But the experience is disappointing every single time. The staff feel unprofessional and completely disengaged, like they don’t want to be there.

It’s frustrating to see such a beautiful space in a prime location being let down so badly. Feels like a management problem at its core.

I’m planning for the first week of September, 3 days plan.

Planning to just roam around on a scooter, explore quiet beaches, maybe sit and write/music/think a bit.

Drinking isn’t really a focus for this trip, maybe a beer or two in the evening, that’s it.

looking for:

cafes or spots with a creative vibe.

places where I can just sit and spend time alone.

stays where I can cook my own food.

Would love any recommendations or tips, hidden gems, anything helpful.

Thanks in advance :)
