The rectangular tube that runs up the back of the tub to feed the upper sprayers is attached to the back wall by a metal bracket. That bracket in turn appears to be spot-welded to the tub wall. It has failed.

So how do I fix? I’m thinking stainless pop rivet with a gasket, maybe further gasketing via flex seal. Or, some kind of super-strong bonding tape that is waterproof, maybe 3” of it, and just bond the tube to the tub?

I make my own 2” / 51mm paper filters for the portafilter by hand cutting, but I want an easier way. There’s a [slick 3D-printed device to do this](https://www.reddit.com/r/espresso/s/xbqzVZiFcE). I’ve also tried to use 2” paper circle cutter punch presses you can get at Amazon for like $10; they don’t work.

Other options?

NOTE there are medical cholesterol-reducing motivations for filtering espresso. Personally I do not taste any difference, preferential or otherwise, using the filters.

The latch button works but only on the right side. Used to work pressing anywhere, so I’m thinking this might be a smoking gun for one possibility not several? Failing / worn latch spring?

I have gone into this (very good) unit multiple times in the past to replace the cap and switches.
