I currently run a YouTube channel with 5.84k subscribers and 6.1M+ total views. Most of my growth came from K-pop piano “guess the song” shorts/reels, especially around groups like Stray Kids and BLACKPINK. Over time, the channel became very strongly tied to that audience and niche.

The issue is that now I want to branch out into broader music content like western pop songs, vocal covers, guitar, songwriting-related content, more artist-focused stuff instead of only K-pop piano quizzes. But whenever I post non-K-pop content, even if they are in the same format (like guess the pop song), my existing audience usually skips them quickly, so the videos die early and never seem to reach the actual audience that would care about them.

What makes this confusing is that all my current momentum, subscribers, and reach came from one specific niche, so I’m worried that trying to expand too aggressively might hurt the channel overall. At the same time, I also don’t want to stay permanently locked into only one type of content when my long-term goal is to grow more as a musician/artist and not just a K-pop quiz page.

I really need help from some experienced people who can tell me how to manage this situation.

I currently run a music-focused Instagram page where most of my growth came from K-pop piano “guess the song” reels, especially around groups like Stray Kids and BLACKPINK. Recently I also crossed 10k followers on Instagram. Over time, my audience became very strongly tied to that specific niche and format.

The issue is that now I want to branch out into broader music content like western pop songs, vocal covers, guitar, songwriting-related content, and more artist-focused stuff instead of only K-pop piano quizzes. But whenever I post non-K-pop content, even if it’s still music-related and in a similar format, my existing audience usually skips it quickly, so the videos die early and never seem to reach the actual audience that would care about them.

What makes this confusing is that all my current momentum, reach, and followers came from one specific niche, so I’m worried that trying to expand too aggressively might hurt the page and my existing audience and discovery graph overall. hello everyone. im making this post today because ive been really sad lately and doubting myself a lot. i have no one to talk to and idk if im on the right path. any help or advice would be great and might make me feel better about myself. (you dont have to try to make me feel positive if im not doing enough).

so my college got over recently and then i started preparing for competitve exams for a good high paying job, the exam will happen next year around may. people search for a job for survival and independence but i have always wanted to become a singer-songwriter and wanted to perform on stages but as a kid i never worked for it because i was simply unaware that the earlier i start, the better will my chances of succeeding at opportunities be. i do play piano from a very young age but i did not learn anything else like, guitar, singing, songwriting.

now im 23 and i realise i have this dream and im in panic mode thinking im already too late for it. but still i have been working at it for quite some time now, and lately my everyday schedule comprises of breathing exercises, 1 hr vocal warmup, 1 hr guitar, 1 hr piano, 1 hr songwriting, 1 hr for recording daily reels for my yt channel, 4-5 hrs study, 30 mins of HIIT workout. everyday feels fully packed, like im constantly busy. i do take out some time to watch 1 or 2 episodes of my fav show and get around 6-7 hrs of sleep.

all i wanted to ask was that, am i doing enough. cuz i still feel like what if i cut 1 more hour from watching the show and use it for practicing singing techniques or maybe study 30 mins more but i feel like ill burn out if i do more. but still it feels that to be successful you need to work until your body breaks. and i have that fear that if i take out time to relax i will be sacrificing my dream considering im already starting out so late.

i try to stay positive each day, i keep telling myself that im doing enough, its gonna be alright, but i still cant feel happy. its like, the moment i get too happy, a voice in me says, why the hell are u laughing so much, what have u achieved. so just wanted to ask what other people think about my everyday life.

thank you to anyone who took the time to read and help.
