Olivia Rodrigo made a surprise appearance at a small venue show and performed potentially her 2nd single from her upcoming album and the attendees described it as “the saddest song of her career”

Based off the people that heard the song they described it as deep, intense, very sad, and ballady. One also said it has themes of begging for someone to stay and yearning. Weyes Blood delivered backing vocals too, but it’s unclear if she’s on the actual song or not, but I’d say likely since Olivia has had other artists for backing vocals before like Chappell. Also forgot to mention, but someone also said it has very beautiful harmonies. I think we can see this song being performed on SNL next week before it releases. I’m getting major “Call Out My Name” by The Weeknd vibes based off the description of this song because incase y’all didn’t know before The Weeknd made his project “My Dear Melancholy” he had a “happy” album before breaking up with Selena Gomez, but after the breakup it led him to scrap the entire project and work on “My Dear Melancholy” instead. Now how does this have anything to do with Olivia? Well this album she’s dropping soon gives similar vibes with a breakup part of a project, but this time flipping it by not scrapping everything, but making two sides to the project with the “girl so in love” side, the songs she made while she was with Louis and the “you seem pretty sad” side, the post breakup songs like I mentioned in my theory before the album title even came out you can read it here if you like https://www.reddit.com/r/OliviaRodrigo/s/dun0toadrG

It so far seems the theory is looking very accurate and I think this next single will be between track 7-11 in which we have the “sad” post breakup side of the album. I’m more leaning towards it being track 7 since I think this could be the major climax shift moment like I mentioned in my theory. Also forgot to mention there are no videos of this performance because recordings weren’t allowed during the show.

When do you all think the next single will drop?

I'm thinking an announcement at the end of next week, and the actual single coming out a week after that (maybe i'm too hopeful lol)

Which do you think is Olivia’s saddest song so far?

With the post about Olivia’s “saddest song of her career” potentially being released next, which do you think is her saddest song so far? For me, it’s between enough for you and logical.

Enough for you because in many of her live performances of the song she often looks so close to tears after the line “Cause someday, I'll be everything to somebody else.” The first time I watched the B&W live video my heart broke for her and I actually teared up.

And the first time I heard the lines “Said I was too young, I was too soft, can't take a joke, can't get you off” in logical my heart broke for her again.

So which song do you think is her saddest so far and why?

Olivia’s one night only show in LA

I hardly see anyone talking about it and all the ones who did go are keeping it hush. What do we know about it? This is all i’ve seen so far

She played 13 songs from her discography drop dead twice and one unreleased song on the new album

There were less than 400 people total as I believe 350 was the capacity of the venue

She talked at length about what the new album means to her and what it’s about.

Weyes blood was brought out as a special guest for a duet of the unreleased song

Is there anything I’m missing?

UPDATE: i have improved my olivia wall from my previous post

Slide 3 is the before, what do you think, is it enough? Also on the swing the two hearts have the initials O and L, kinda wish I did it on the actual letters cuz "love" has both but I think it's cuter like thiss!<3

Also, if u have any ideas on how to improve it anymore, let me know! I want to hear ur thoughts and opinions!

P.S. the pink lines on the album cover were the result of my partialy broken printer, but I don't think it's that noticable!

Did she succeed with the billboard/charts push?

Hello!

So regardless of feeling about the very obvious push from her team to get “Drop Dead” to number 1, how did she do? I thought the billboard posted their results every Friday and she had to get it yesterday or she wouldn’t break the record?

I could totally be wrong the whole thing about timing was very confusing, I just wanna know if she succeeded or if the marketing ended up not helping.

I need help with my olivia wall

So, I had my guts and sour wall for like a year now and when I was making them the themes and asthetics for both albums were allready set, but for "sad girl in love" I feel like there still isn't a real theme, for guts it's stars, for sour it's stickers but I just can't figure out what to put around here. Any help or suggestions would mean the world! Thanx in advance.! <3
