Am I expecting too much from a CLA?

SOLVED: Tech contacted me, looks like Crud bounced around during shipping and settled on the prism. Removed focus screen and blew it off of the prism with compressed air, almost all of it is gone now

Just got my AE-1P back from CLA and everything else is great, but it doesn’t look like the VF was cleaned on the prism. I had my other AE-1P serviced by the same guy and it came back immaculate. Am I expecting too much if I ask them to fix this?

Vision3 on 110.. don’t mind if I do!

A package from LA arrived today.. my buddy who directs music videos and commercials sent me these short ends he had left over from a film test for a shoot he did last year. There is an estimated 25ft left of 250D and 15ft of 500T. Single perf 16mm. When I get my 110 cartridge situation figured out..(used carts or 3D printed ones) I plan on bulk loading a couple of each for testing.

My Auto 110 has a new brother!

Scored this little guy in an auction for $34! It even has the battery holder, flash connector caps, a little case (that’s seen better days) and an original lens filter!

Having issues with first layer adhesion at edges of build plate

When I print large objects, my ender 3 is having major issues with first layer adhesion on the far edges of my build plate. The center has extremely good adhesion, probably too much, but when the head goes to about 20% from the left and right edges, many of the first layer lines just come off of the plate. This pretty much limits me to using only half of my build area.

I have leveled my build plate as good as I can get it with the paper method, though the center gets REALLY tight when the edges are good. I’ve used the octopi bed level visualizer and it verifies this, looks like a house roof.

I am currently using the creality magnetic build plate and I’m wondering if it’s time to upgrade to a glass build plate or is there something else I could do?

Do any of you have the AB-82 or similar split image focus screen on your 645n? I am considering buying a couple more manual A series primes, but I’ve already noticed a couple of my shots weren’t focused correctly, though I had focus confirmation. I think I would feel more comfortable with a split prism.

Also, how difficult are the focusing screens to swap out on the 645n? Ive done SLRs before and some can be a PITA.

ISO used JOBO 1510 film development tank.

Also I could use a 2nd 1520, but the 1510 is what I’m currently in need of.

Reels are not necessary, but i could always use another if included.

So yesterday I became the proud owner of this beauty. One thing i didn’t think about ahead of time was lens protection. This has a non-standard filter thread of 48mm so my filter/hood options are limited to overpriced ones specially made for canonets, using a step up ring, or sourcing a finding an OEM Canonet lens hood/filters on ebay. I could design and 3D print a slip on lens hood (and I very well may, at least for now, the existing ones kind of look a bit awkward and not very thoughtfully designed.

Are any of you shooting Canonets? What have you done as far as lens protection?

So I recently picked up a 645n from my local shop. I took it out for a test roll yesterday and i will have to say, this thing is going to cost me so much in film!! It was so fun to shoot and so easy! I still love my Bronica SQ-Ai but it’s tedious to shoot and takes a LOT of concentration!

I’ve ordered a strap since it didnt come with one. The guy at the shop thinks they may have a 220 back for it ( i already have a second 120 back). I think the next thing i will purchase is a compatible flash and then I will start deciding which lenses I’m going to want.

Any lens suggestion?
Any other accessories I might want to look into picking up?

This week has been a really busy week for me getting new gear, here is the Pentax stuff I’ve acquired this week:

Yesterday I won an auction for a Pentax ME Super SE with a nice looking Pentax-M 50mm f1.4 attached (not that I needed the camera, but ill probably clean it up, replace the light seals, run a test roll of film through it and sell it on with the other two lenses it came with.)

Today my Pentax-110 70mm f2.8 lens arrived.

I also won an auction tonight for a Pentax Auto 110 Super for $34!!

And today I went to the photo store to pick up a couple of rolls of B&W film, i ended up walking out with the Pentax 645nii that I have been eyeing for a few weeks.

(I also bough a Canonet which I’ve been wanting for quite a while now. And last weekend I bought a Minolta 9xi) loads of new cameras.. I may take the 645 out tomorrow and shoot a roll, but now I must watch a video on how to properly load it.

I have never done embroidery, but i was a graphics design major. My local library has a professional embroidery machine that is available to use and laptops with Hatch software. I am planning on designing a few patches (sew or iron on) and I’m trying to figure out the best type of material to use for professional looking patches. I believe they already have tear away stabilizer and hooping material, I just need to bring my design and the fabric and they will teach me how to build it in Hatch.

What material would be best for this and where is a good place to find it?

I have an ender 3 with the silent board 4.2.7 upgrade and the firmware from Creality’s site.

I have it printing better than it ever has, but I currently have two issues.

  1. none of my settings.. esteps, z probe offset… will save, even when I select save settings multiple times. Nor will it load any settings. Any time it loses power, i have to go back in and set them.

  2. The mainboard fan never turns on since upgrading. It did with the old board, and I’ve connected the fan directly to voltage and it spins. Not sure if the board is messed up or there is a setting that needs to be changed.

I had trouble initially installing the firmware, i had to try it 2 or 3 times before it took. Where can i find a good reliable build of firmware for this board? And is there anything i need to change to get the mainboard fan running while printing?

So i went in to my local camera shop today to grab some film and dev chems. I noticed a bunch of used cameras out on one of the display tables. I saw this and immediately started testing it out. It was marked a little higher than I normally see these sell for on ebay, but it was fully tested and comes with a warranty. It is in extremely good condition and came with an equally clean 50mm f1.7. After i got this home I played around with it for an hour or so. There is definitely a learning curve with this camera, but it is fast to autofocus (when there is enough light) and it has all the features i will ever use. It even came the Depth creative expansion card. (Though the only ones i would really care about are the Data Memory cards).

I can’t wait to run a roll of film through it.

My 7000i will be jealous.

For B&W and C-41 I’ve been using the Massive Dev app, but I will soon be processing E-6 and ECN-2 and Massive Dev doesn’t seem to have a way to add in the extra baths that a kit like Bellini requires.

Do any of you have a preferred app (iphone/ipad) for your E-6/ECN-2 timing and if so which one?
