Places near national parks reachable by public transport?
Hi all! I’m currently travelling in Thailand and it’s amazing. However I have one week at the end that I haven’t planned yet and I’d like some recommendation.
What I’m looking for:
- A city/town with hostels that’s reachable from Bangkok (and from where I can go back to Bangkok from)
- Close to a national park that is reachable by public transport (grab is also fine if there’s also enough grab cars to make sure I can get back too).
- The national park should have (a) trail(s) that I can walk by myself.
preferable but not necessary
- Less than 4 hours from Bangkok
- National park has water/wetlands/waterfalls/coastal area

Black plastic object with a camera button and nothing else, left behind in a Thai hostel dorm room
Ten baht coin for scale. Some more context/info:
- I’m the only one in this room so this object was either left behind or placed here by the hostel owners.
- both sides have grooves (pic 2), there are no other holes or indents
- You can press the button, nothing happens as far as I can tell
