Any advice on Smart Start or Lifesaver would be great. Trying to decide which company to go with. Also need advice on what to do battery wise. Been reading alottt of people saying they had to keep replacing batteries. That worries me because i live close to work. i heard the short trips is what causes problems. i will only be driving short trips. Also im in Vermont and worried about the winter and how that will affect the device. Any and all advice would be awesome. So overwhelming im thinking of just moving to a walkable city. Is the device really as bad as everyone says?

Hi friends! I have thankfully completed all the boring legal parts and annoying classes after a year since my DUI. Woo hoo! Half way there! But i was wondering if anyone had some advice for me 23 F on how to get used to having an Interlock device? I need to buy a new car first so it might be a few months so im trying to mentally prepare for this change. I am worried about things happening to cause problems with the IID that may be out of my control as i tend to worry about everything anyways. I also have asthma so im worried i wont be able to blow into it long enough. I will need it for 18 months. Should i just get a beater car and put it in there and only go to the service appointments while continuing to get rides? Even with not drinking I am scared i will mess up having the device. If anyone has any positive advice for me please please leave a comment ive been worrying myself sick!! Located in VT btw not sure if VT is very different from other states laws
