Hi all,

So my car is registered in CA, and I discovered a couple of months ago that the Odometer in the original title application was wrong, by a whole digit. So since 2019 the Title says 190K miles but it's 2026 and it's only been 60K miles.

so I need the Odometer fixed and a new title issued. The thing is I am out of state - in MA.

CA DMV says I need to have a Peace Officer fill out REG 31, but not sure who that is. The local MA police told me they don't really do inspections on cars but I just found out they do VIN checks,

I can also just drive to another adjacent state for that as well.

Any insights?

I am stealth camping in my car and enjoy a cup of coffee (cannot pay for a daily of course). I have one of those huge Folgers coffee items so its's just a matter of getting the hot water.
