My 37F boyfriend 50M of 4 years tells me he doesn’t have a retirement fund and it worries me. He’s very involved in stock/crypto and the way he makes it sound is his investments haven’t paid off. I ask him why doesn’t he invest in something safer and he says he’s too old to now.

Me- I have a stable job making decent pay for my area (127k). I’ve shared with him how much I make and he says he makes a little above that. I’ve finally reached a point where I can save for retirement and reached 50k in my 401k.

I’m a SINK wanting to be a DINK. I live in a high cost of living city and the only way I’ll afford a house is if I purchase with someone else. My boyfriend is a great guy but doesn’t want to get married or ever live together.

Does he still have time to save for retirement or is he a lost cause? He’s an amazing boyfriend but am I a fool to stay with him?
