How do you deal with the 4K monitor's real estate scaling issue?

I've been eyeing to upgrade my monitor and there are some 2K options I currently have like the BenQ PD2706QN, Asus ProArt PA278CFRV, Dell UltraSharp U2724D etc... especially for higher refresh rates and you know, the native Mac scaling at 1440p.

But I'm also exploring some 4K monitors around the same price range as the above, $300-400 something because of the crispier display. But the thing about 1080p scaling is making me put the 4K monitors in my "maybe" bucket. So I wanna know, those of you using a 4K monitor, how do you deal with this scaling thing? Does the FHD real estate at 27 inch bother you? Are you ignoring the performance warning at different scales thrown by macOS?

I can't dream of a 5K or a 6K monitor at the moment since I'm very tight in budget. Lmk how you guys use your 4K monitors.

Multiple refresh rate options don't show up with a DisplayPort cable?

I have a 100hz monitor that I use with a Mac Mini. The monitor got a HDMI 2.0 and a DisplayPort 1.4 ports. I had been using it with an HDMI cable and was able to select 60, 75 and 100 hertz refresh rates with it. Recently switched to a DP cable and now it just shows 100hz in the refresh rate picker dropdown.

What's happening here? Not that it's an issue by any means but I just find it pretty strange. Not sure if it's supposed to be this way or there is something going on.

I tried changing the DP versions out of curiosity from the monitor's OSD settings to the available 1.2 and 1.1, same thing.

I'm currently looking forward to switching to a 2k monitor from my existing FHD UW LG.

I initially found the GW2790Q and figured it has a big brother, the GW2790QT which is vertically turnable.

I know the only big differences are the QT model has a USB C support, it can be vertical and weirdly enough, the refresh rate is capped at 75hz compared to the regular Q's 100hz.

I do coding and a little graphics designing work. I see the QT being advertised as the "coding" monitor. Yet, I saw the regular Q also has the coding mode in its OSD settings. I really don't care about the ergonomic stand the QT has because I use a monitor arm anyway.

So my question is, is the QT really worth getting over the Q? Does the QT have any advantage over display quality (except the refresh rate) or stuff like that? Because, the QT's price is literally twice that of the regular Q.

It's kind of a no brainer question I know, but I wanna know if the overall experience given by the two differs by a huge margin.

As the title says.

I use it as my desk keyboard (so no portability needed) and thought of connecting it with the USB cable instead of the wireless dongle/bluetooth but it keeps charging and I'm afraid I may screw its battery health if I keep charging it above 100% all the time.

Is there any way to stop it from charging while connected with the USB cable?

Didn't find any related answers to my question around the internet so decided to post here, apologize if this is a stupid question.

Apologize if this is a wrong subreddit for this topic.

I've been using MAMP since the M1 chip and never experienced anything this bizarre. Recently moved to the M4 Mac Mini and MAMP seems to stop working suddenly and when I open the app, the turn on/off button is just orange. I can't even click on it as it acts buggy, freezing and so on. When I click it (while it's still orange), it acts like it's trying to start/stop/restart then nothing happens, just goes back to being orange again.

I have tried checking every log file in the logs folder, nothing is printed there. Neither httpd nor mysql is running in the activity monitor either. I only see MAMP running in the activity monitor. Force quitting it and restarting does nothing, same orange button. I tried checking for the default port i.e 80 in my case, it's not used by anything else. Also deleted the mysql.sock.lock file from the mysql folder, no luck, it just refuses to start. In fact, it doesn't even prompt me to enter my admin password to start/stop the services as it usually should.

Now, here is the thing, if I restart the entire machine, it seem to fix the issue but happens outta nowhere randomly again. I can't bother restarting my machine this frequently just to fix this thing either. Is this a problem with the latest macOS or the MAMP itself?

It's getting really frustrating at this point. If anyone knows a solution, please provide.

I have also tried reinstalling the entire thing like twice now, didn't help...

By the way, please don't suggest moving to Docker, installing the stack with Homebrew and those as it's not the thing I'm looking forward to at the moment, I got some projects that I need to finish before the deadline, can't bother dealing with all of those things right now.
