I made this atmospheric short using an audio upload workflow instead of a script. Here is the full technical breakdown.

Most of my AI video work starts with a script or a visual concept and works outward from there. This one was different. I had a finished audio track called Whispers and I wanted the visuals to feel like they were pulled out of the music rather than built around it. That meant reversing the usual workflow entirely. Audio first, everything else second.

I want to walk through the exact process because I learned a few things doing it this way that are not obvious if you have only ever worked script to video.

Starting with the audio

The first decision was format. I was working with a finished mixed and mastered WAV file. Most AI video tools that accept audio input prefer a clean stereo file at 44.1kHz or 48kHz. Before uploading anything I made sure the audio was not clipping and that the dynamic range was intact. We sell a personal care product line direct to consumer, average order value around $72. About six months ago we launched a mobile app as a retention play, with the idea being that app users would rebuy at higher frequency than web customers. Once the app was live, we ran a Meta CPI campaign to actually drive installs. I want to share the full 90 day breakdown because most posts about CPI campaigns are either vague or use numbers that do not reflect what DTC brands actually see.

Starting point: we had around 8,000 existing web customers, no prior app presence, and a Meta spend of about $18k per month across prospecting and retargeting on the web side. The app launch budget was separate, starting at $6k per month for the first 30 days.

Campaign structure we started with: a single App Install campaign using App Event Optimization set to Install, broad targeting with Meta's algorithm doing the heavy lifting, and three creative sets. We ran 40 creative variants in one month for a single brand. What we learned about creative fatigue will change how you think about media buying.

Our team spent last month running a controlled creative testing exercise for a direct to consumer brand in the health and wellness space. Forty creative variants across six ad formats, three audience segments, two platforms. Want to share what we found because some of it genuinely contradicted what I thought I knew about how creative performs.

Background: the brand had been running the same three to four creative concepts for about six months. The winning framework was specific problem, specific consequence, implied solution. The losing framework was benefit first. This aligns with how people actually consume ads at the interruption moment. They want to know you understand their problem before they care about your solution.

Production speed matters more than production quality at the testing stage. Several of our weakest performers by CTR were our highest production quality videos. They looked polished and they underperformed. Our best performer in the entire test was a simple talking head testimonial with average production values. In performance creative, authenticity signals consistently outperform production value signals, especially in health and wellness categories.

On the production side: we had to produce 40 variants in a compressed timeline. AI-generated product detail shots with environmental animation. Taking a static product image and adding subtle environmental motion (steam from a mug, gentle movement in natural elements around a skincare product) produces content that reads as premium and is significantly faster to produce than real video of the same thing.

AI-generated hook variations for testing. I use AI to produce multiple visual hook variations for the same concept and test them against real performance data before committing to producing the winning variation as real footage. This has meaningfully improved my conversion rates because I'm testing more variations than I could afford to produce in reality.

I made this in 1 shot using seedance 2.0 just for fun

Ive been experimenting with various models, and trying to do one shot AI video generations for randomass products. The idea that struck my mind was to create an anime inspired ad for my own shoe. I am a huge running/athletics enthusiast, so I clicked the picture for my running shoes, and tried to use a production layer, to generate this video within a shot

My prompt structure was as follows -

Main Prompt: Cinematic hyper-realistic CGI commercial, ultra-detailed 8K, dark fantasy product reveal. A sleek high-top athletic sneaker with glossy black leather upper, neon electric-yellow accents, aggressive spiked sole, and a subtle embossed dragon emblem on the heel, floats mid-air in a pitch-black cavernous stone chamber. A single volumetric god-ray of cold white light beams down from above, illuminating the shoe as it rotates slowly on its vertical axis, catching specular highlights along its curves.

Shot 1 (0–4s): Slow cinematic push-in from a low angle toward the levitating shoe. Dust particles drift through the light shaft. Ambient darkness surrounds the edges. Camera movement: smooth dolly-in, subtle handheld breathing.

Shot 2 (4–8s): Sudden burst of glowing orange-red embers and sparks erupting from the cavern floor, swirling upward in a vortex around the shoe. Heat shimmer distorts the background air. I uploaded the picture, and edited the motion a little bit on Atlabs. I prefer see dance over other models now and its because Seedance's motion model handles complex physical interactions — collisions, fabric dynamics, fluid, sparks, debris, with noticeably fewer "jelly" artifacts. Kling has strong aesthetic motion (especially for human performance and dance_, but in scenes involving mechanical or environmental physics, it's more prone to warping and drift. Camera moves are also more controllable in Seedance: dolly, orbit, crane, and push-ins respond to prompt vocabulary more predictably, which matters when you're directing a shot, not just describing one.
