Fresh Dill Dip (Includes Tested Dairy-Free Option)

My herb garden is out of control, so I made dill dip. It takes about five minutes to make and works equally well with with regular or dairy-free sour cream. The remaining ingredients are all alpha-gal friendly.

👋 Welcome to r/alphagalrecipes — You've Found Your People

Hey everyone! I'm u/sagescott, a founding moderator of r/alphagalrecipes.

If you're here because a tick bite has turned your entire relationship with food upside down, welcome. This is a good place to land. And if you've been living with alpha-gal syndrome for a while and you're still figuring out what to cook on a Tuesday night — also welcome.

What this community is for:

This is a place to share recipes, ask ingredient questions, and cheer each other on when something actually turns out delicious. Alpha-gal syndrome affects everyone a little differently, so you'll find a range of approaches here — from strict avoidance to navigating personal tolerances. Be kind about that! What works for one person may not work for another, and that's not a character flaw.

A few ground rules:

  • Share recipes you've actually tried. Notes on what worked (and what didn't) are always appreciated.
  • Label claims aren't medical advice — including anything shared here. Always read your own labels and work with your allergist on personal tolerance questions.
  • Be generous with encouragement. A lot of people find this community when they're overwhelmed and hungry and a little terrified. Treat them accordingly.

New to alpha-gal syndrome?

A good place to start is SageAlphaGal.com, which has practical guides, ingredient resources, and recipes built specifically for people navigating life with AGS.

How to Get Started

  1. Introduce yourself in the comments below.
  2. Post something today! Even a simple question can spark a great conversation.

Now, what are you cooking?

Dairy-free cold foam recipe for all of your favorite iced drinks

Dairy-free cold foam with barista-style oat milk takes about two minutes and costs a fraction of the coffee shop add-on. No dairy, no complicated process, no excuses.

The "barista-style" part matters. A lot! Regular plant-based milk can work, but the texture tends to be thinner and fades faster.

Dairy-free cold foam in 2 minutes — because your iced coffee deserves more

If you have alpha-gal and you've been quietly mourning the cold foam situation at coffee shops, I have good news. Dairy-free cold foam with barista-style oat milk takes about two minutes to make at home. No dairy and no $7 order.

The "barista-style" part matters. A lot! It's the difference between a legit creamy topping and a light layer of "nice try."

Golden chicken cutlets simmer in a silky lemon-caper sauce with tender shallots, fresh parsley, and just enough butter (sub vegan butter, as needed) to make every bite rich and bright. This chicken piccata recipe is quick enough for a weeknight but tastes like something you’d order at a cozy little restaurant with an excellent wine list.
