Only thing I added differently was cinnamon. Pretty tasty, but since my jalapenos came straight off the vine, they were still very spicy, not complaining, love the heat and the sweetness of it all.
Made Prime NY Strip the night before, wasn’t feeling well today and wanted something smooth on the throat, but also wanted that steak again, so why not a ramen packet and steak. Was actually really good
Wife planned to get out for a bit and watch DWP2. I decided to make her a surprise dinner for when she got home. I was also watching the kiddo. Hope I did well here.
Prime NY Strip:
- Salt, Pepper, smoked paprika
- Cooked Med Rare
Mash Potatoes
- Gold Potatoes
- Boursin Herb Cheese
- Butter
- Milk
- Bacon drippings (from bacon baked below)
- salt and pepper
Mushroom Cream Sauce:
- Steak pan drippings
- mushrooms
- kept garlic and rosemary in pan after basted steak
- more butter
- half and half cream
- 1 tbsp flour
- Cajun seasoning
Romaine Wedge Salad:
- Blue Cheese Dressing
- Crispy bacon - peppered the bacon, baked in oven at 375F for 13 mins
- Marinated Cherry Toms: tossed in olive oil, sweet balsamic syrup, Italian seasoning, and salt (chilled in fridge for 1 hour)
- Pickled Onion - Boiled 1 cup apple cider vinegar and 1 cup sugar. Poured over thin sliced red onion, and chilled in fridge
- Crushed Parmesan crusted garlic bread - left over Parmesan garlic bread from night before. Crushed the bread in a bag and used it as breaded crouton
Located in Phoenix, AZ. Weather here is 100F currently, but overnight lows get to the low 70’s
Captains log: Need log cheese in crust. First attempt at shredded cheese in crust unsuccessful, but leave crust internally with a nice cheese flavor. Attempt #2 will use a solid cheese block and try a better dough sealing technique when rolling crust dough over the cheese. Still a tasty pie.

Ciabatta bread, fresh avocado spread (avocados, mayo, mustard, lemon juice, garlic salt, pepper) roma tomatoes, red bell peppers, turkey, and hand shredded cheddar cheese. Built sandwich and baked in oven at 350F for 10 mins.
Sides: hummus and sugar snap peas (trying my best to be an adult), a side of whoops a bag of Cheetos opened and fell on my plate. Claussen pickles.
