Got a slow leak under my kitchen sink. It’s not pouring out or anything, just a steady drip from one of the connections.

I tightened it slightly and it helped a bit, but didn’t fully stop.

I’m comfortable doing basic stuff, but don’t want to make it worse.

At what point do you stop trying to DIY and just call someone?

I swear this house has turned into one problem after another

We’ve got a full bathroom upstairs and a half bath downstairs. In the beginning it was just a leaking shower upstairs, developing into a much bigger plumbing mess. I thought maybe it was something minor, but then stains showed up on the ceiling below, and now I’m sure there are pipe issues behind the walls

Every time I think it’s finally over, there are some new repairs that show up. Like you know, something else pops up in this house is trying to personally test my patience

I had a plumber come take a look and the rough numbers terrified me. I’m already tight financially, so hearing that fixing everything properly could cost a fortune really freaks me out

I feel like moving out would solve almost all my problems and it’s not worth trying to save this place. Indeed, the idea of throwing money into plumbing disasters sounds exhausting when I’m barely keeping my head above water

I’m looking to spin up a VPS for a couple small things - basic website, maybe a Discord bot, and just messing around with Linux.

Nothing high traffic at all.

I keep going down the rabbit hole comparing providers, specs, uptime, etc., and now I’m stuck. There are so many options and wildly different prices.

Realistically, does it even matter at this level? Like, would I notice much difference between something like DigitalOcean, Linode (now under Akamai), or Vultr for basic use?

Just trying not to overpay or pick something unreliable.

Honestly, I’m just over getting slammed with bandwidth overages every time I run a backup or there’s a random spike in traffic. I’ve been eyeing unmetered plans so I can stop sweating the bill, but I’m a little sketched out about whether the performance actually holds up when you’re pushing serious data. Some folks swear by unmetered for streaming, but then you hear horror stories about getting throttled hard during peak hours.

I checked out a guide that broke price range by port speed, but honestly, I’d like to hear from people who’ve actually done it, does your connection stay solid or does everything crawl when the data center gets busy? And is it actually cheaper in the long run versus just biting the bullet on a high-tier metered plan?

If you’ve made the switch, did unmetered actually save you cash, or did you end up going back to a high-bandwidth metered setup for the sake of reliability?

Hey everyone,

I’ve been looking into ways to level up my application game and had a question for the community.

If you don’t have a clear idea of how to write a resume from scratch or how to phrase your achievements properly, do you think it’s actually easier and more effective to use a company that specializes in this, i'm thinking about vmsolu?

I was checking out some of their resources, specifically on how to write a resume for a promotion, and it made me wonder if getting expert help saves more time and stress in the long run.

I’d love to get your perspective:

  • Have you ever used a professional writing service, or do you prefer the DIY approach?
  • Do you feel like a professionally crafted resume performs better with ATS?
  • If you wanted a CV for a specific career jump, would you trust an external consultant to get the tone right?

Curious to hear if anyone here felt that paying for a service was the secret sauce to getting more interviews, or if it’s better to just keep grinding it out yourself.

Thanks!

I’m finally checking the Mother Road off my bucket list! I’m planning the drive from Chicago to LA, and while I’m excited for the roadside attractions and the neon signs, I’m mostly here for the food. I want the full experience. I know there are plenty of tourist traps along the way, but I’m looking for the legendary spots that have actually survived the decades. I’m ready to eat my way across the country, so give me your best recommendations for breakfast, burgers, and shakes! Thank you guys : )

Ever since my partner and I moved in together, we’ve both put on way more weight than either of us expected

I don’t even think it happened because we suddenly started eating horribly and it’s more like food just became part of how we spend time together.

We cook almost every night, try new recipes, snack while watching TV, and try to bring something yummy to each other all the time

Somehow eating turned into our default activity

The weird part is I feel hunger all the time. You know, like once you get used to always having food around, your brain just expects it all the time

I’ve been trying to cut back, but I swear my appetite has a mind of its own lately. I’ve looked into things like Oztrim mostly because I’m wondering if getting the constant hunger under control would make this easier

Has anyone else gained weight after moving in with a partner? Did you figure out a way to break the cycle without turning every meal into a negotiation?

I got pre-approved through my credit union at 5.9% for 60 months. I don't want to play the "let me call my manager" game for an hour. Can I just walk in, say "I have my own loan, let's talk out the door price," and not be a pain? Or is that still going to get me the annoyed sigh from the sales guy? Genuinely trying not to waste anyone's time here.
