Saas for fun

check this out, so I like mini bikes and I like Saas so I figured I’d build a saas that I like a lot. It’s called minibike-builder.com. It lets users build their own custom mini bike right in their browser. It’s totally free and has no sign up requirements. It keeps accurate build specs and even can help troubleshoot common issues…my vision is that people will custom make their own “parts art” (not nfts) and share their custom builds…. Monetization strategy could come in the form of affiliate links or some other vendor kick back but I’m open to your suggestions and criticisms and feedback.

just for fun

Hey I made this website just for fun. It’s got some bugs but you can make your own bike like in real life. Maybe you guys will like it?

Btw, anyone come up with a compact swing arm for a Coleman bt200x?

I built a free tool to attract users before charging anything. Smart funnel or founder cope?

I’m a low-voltage and security contractor, so I built a free browser tool for layouts, estimates, PDF markup, and system planning:

designer.knoxnetvms.com

My strategy is simple: solve a real problem for free, attract people in the trade, then eventually convert some into consulting, installs, VMS users, or paid features.

Is this a smart SaaS funnel, or am I just giving away tools with extra steps?

I built a free self-hosted PDF markup tool for system design drawings. It lets you upload a PDF, place devices, draw cable paths, estimate distances, add notes, and generate a simple live bid/export.

The demo is about 8 minutes and starts from cloning the repo, then shows the basic workflow.

It’s still rough, but functional. I originally made it for my own low-voltage/security design work, and I figured others might find it useful for quick estimates, site layouts, camera/security planning, or rough project markups.

Feedback is welcome, especially from anyone who does low-voltage, security, AV, networking, or field estimating.

I’m a low-voltage contractor and got tired of marking up drawings by hand or fighting with expensive software just to count cameras, APs, switches, racks, and cable paths.

So I built a free browser-based tool that lets you upload a PDF, drop devices, auto-tag them, draw cable paths, estimate footage, and export a branded bid PDF/BOM.

It’s not perfect, but distance estimation works, it runs locally, and it’s free. I’m using it on real bids now.

I’d love feedback from other contractors, estimators, camera installers, AV techs, and network guys.
