I’ve finally found a way to stop restarting my saves! I’m calling it the "Mercenary Challenge." Instead of sticking with one team, I’m running a 30-team control league on total automation until the All-Star Break.
At the break, I’ll identify the most interesting Wildcard "bubble" team, take them over manually, and try to trade/manage them into a World Series ring. Once the season ends, I handle their offseason, then let them go back to the "wild" for the next year while I hunt for a new team to save.
Has anyone tried a nomadic playstyle like this? What settings do you recommend to keep the CPU rosters realistic during the sim.
