MaxOne USB HDD asking to be formatted

It was working just fine yesterday, My MaxOne USB portable HDD that is. Today when I go to file explorer and click on it, it pauses and then asks if I want to format it.

I've had it probably at least 6 months with no issues. It's not making any sounds when shaken and the light is still blinking. Do I just format it and re-download everything?

(steam games, gog stuff, various other media)

Dungeons that go on way too long

I've been enjoying playing Mary Skelter 2 (despite all the weirdness) but this game just goes on WAY too long. 46 hours played and I'm at chapter 6.

This is after 5 large dungeons each with 4 to 5 levels each. I like the layout, the puzzles but the game really could be done by this point and I wouldn't complain. The combat is okay but the boss fights really come down to luck and RNG.

Deploy option for trailblazer isn't selectable

https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3722787465

As far as I can tell my rocket is built correctly. It flies to the planet just fine. I have one pilot and two dupes in there. For whatever reason I can't deploy my trailblazer module.

If I set the rocket to return, the dupes suffocate before they make it back. (I'm okay with sacrificing one or two of them, but I really want to explore the new planetoid) I can auto destruct it and get all three down to the surface okay. I like the scenario of them struggling to survive and the dupes on the main asteroid building a rescue party ala The Martian.

Although this game is eating up -way- too much of my time and I do need to give it a break.

My rocket launched!

I finally got a rocket to launch. My eyes almost swelled with tears. 280 cycles, 120 hours playtime. (Lots of reloads) That's really all I care about, the rest of you dupes can starve. (Which they might do since one dupe with the binge eating stress reaction ate all of our food)

I orbit the planet, a beautiful lush green one. And my trailblazer module won't deploy. Thankfully a quick search shows that you have to unassign one of the dupes from being pilot before it will deploy. I guess next I have to figure out how to make him survive on his own.

Is there any way you can go further back on your cloud saves than just the 5 or 6 cycles it saves? It seems like I've wasted the past few days (with 2 hour play time each day) first just messing with the steam geyser. I eventually just gave up and capped it instead of trying to deal with it as a power and water source.

Issue #2

Coolant

Trying to use the freezing brine from way up at the top, bringing it down to the top left and then down closer to the steam geyser. Problem: Dupes seem to build the pipes at the start first. Freezing water gets pumped out into insulated pipes and down to the reservoir. There's a spot along the route where the temp drops to -40 or so and then the pipe breaks. Is this because the water isn't moving enough? (The water pump and reservoir is built first, with the salinator downstream built later. Build salinator first so water keeps moving?)

Oxygen distribution

Oxygen seems to move up vertically and horizontally from my spom just fine, but getting it moving down into the deep parts of the base that doesn't have enough oxygen is a very slow process with only one or two out of the 20 packets making it down that far.

  1. Once my dupe stress hits over 60% it almost feels like game over, they just get into a cycle of using massage tables and then experiencing the same stress problems over and over. (Popped eardrums, yucky lungs, etc). This leads to them not doing their daily chores and you spend all your time managing their stress instead. Which is why I need an earlier save. I'm 280 cycles in and all I need is for the dupes to stop getting so stressed, finish building my trailblazer module so I can launch my rocket. I just want to make it to space once, just once please. That's all I ask!

I'd have to say I'm not too good or perhaps I just don't understand the priority system.

I have docks of oxygen masks and exosuits. I tell them to deliver the suit to the dock. They never do and just drop it on the ground. They wear the mask or suit to bed.

I want to refill the suits with bottled oxygen (by passing a filter and avoiding wrong element damage). I have them drain oxygen from the pipes, then they just leave it on the floor. Telling them to sweep it (setting priority at 7) leaves it sitting there for many other cycles. I want you to do it now!

Yes I have auto-bottler on, but I assume telling them to sweep gets it done faster?

Why won't you put on your mask before you go into the chlorine areas? Why won't you put on your exosuit before messing with the scalding water or outer space?

Why do you keep dropping food on the floor!

1st link screen shot is my Steam geyser which I'm not sure how to tame. I have those two gas reservoirs filled with gas which seems useless.

2nd link screen shot. I've finally made it to space. 200 cycles in. I'm not building a telescope -- for? I guess explorations? I'm not sure I'll ever figure out the rocketry stuff.

3rd screen shot - my spom. plenty of oxygen production. two hydrogen genrators but only one pipe really seems to accept most of the flow. and two gas filters to control the hydrogen so they don't break. yes, I know this is a bad setup and not the official ideal, but it mostly works.

I've mostly given up on trying to get transformers to control the wire overload and am instead using smaller circuits and heavy watt wire. (see imagine in post)

Food: Two bristle berry farms of 10 rows each. Keep temp below 30.1 somewhat of an issue. One mushroom farm 10 rows. Not enough slime production for fertilizer. (Why don't the dupes automatically store the food in fridges when done cooking? seems I always have to manual sweep it)

Power: Running three coal generators (hatches and plenty of coal on asteroid) two hydrogen generators and one natural gas geyser/generator. Power isn't an issue, controlling it is.

Dupes: Twelve dupes. Four farmers (too many), only two researchers, two doctors and two-three engineer/building types. Need more? Not enough food?

Goals: Reached space after 200 cycles, feels like I should focus primarily on telescope/rocket building now, explore planets before food supply runs out or heats up too much? Always feels like there's a hidden timer and I'm writing myself a narrative where the dupes must do X before Y (time) in order to survive. Sci-fi tropes.
