Anyone else?
Anyone else coming from more “traditional” gaming ever describe this game as a Stig RPG/similator? Or is it just me lol
No idea how I never got into racing games before this, I am loving this game I’ll probably buy a wheel soon.

Hello all, have a question about how to get started. I’ve asked multiple people what’s the best way to get started with learning about cars / working on them, they almost always tell me to buy a junker and just start learning on it.
My question is what level of “junker” should I get do you think? Meaning should it run already? Should I avoid certain things being broken before I get it?
I was thinking just get a real cheap car, older (70-80s ideally), unless there was something wrong with the body like it being rusted out or something. At that point I just figured I’ll just slowly start picking things on it and working on fixing it.
Is this a stupid plan? Would this be a good way to learn about fixing/working on/modifying cars? How would you all go about this if you were in my shoes? Thanks
Relatively new trucker here, chugging through Alaska on normal and just started a concurrent hard mode play through. The thing I thought would be the least impactful that is actually the biggest difference between normal and hard to me is not being able to skip time. I cant get as good a read on terrain which has resulted in mishaps and if I can be honest it also adds a bit of creepy factor, I don’t know why it just does for me lol.
Anyway that got me thinking about the game leaning into it for night time. Nothing that would affect gameplay or attack you or anything, but just imagine hauling in deep woods at night you making a turn and as your lights start to get back onto the dirt road / trail you see the part of something big tuck back into the woods to avoid your light or something.
How does one sleep prior to them owning a truck? Do I even have to since they are shorter jobs? Am I supposed to take a job then just go sleep in some rental daycab lol? Thanks
Besides that loving the game, technically a day 2 question, day 1 was a humbling driving school that took so much longer than I thought it would
Hi all, basically the title. How is this game on controller? I’m pretty new to driving/ trucking games and haven’t taken the plunge on a wheel/setup (yet lol, I can already feel the itch with stuff I’m playing already).
I’ve been picking games that go well with controller for now (falling in love with snow runner) and if ATS works well I’d love to get started on it.
Anyways thanks for any feedback I appreciate your time
Hi all, just a quick question. Just bought the new controller, intended for pc use.
It looks like I have to download 2 different apps to use this thing as intended? The Xbox accessories app, which is what you use to map buttons and configure the controller and whatnot. And then the regular XBOX app also? I’m sitting here, controller hooked up, accessory app installed, and the accessory app locks when it notices I don’t have the Xbox app installed?
Am I doing something wrong here? Or must I be forced to engage with Xbox ecosystem beyond the controller itself? Thanks
