Recommendation for canperter ant removal?

Apparently, I have carpenter ants in one spot on the house. Hopefully, it's not too bad since I've only seen signs for about a week. Most things I've read online say not to bother trying to treat them yourself. So who's good to call for getting rid of them?

TIA,

Being a workaholic in my younger days, I'll have close to 400 hours of vacation saved when I retire in November. It'll be paid out at my current salary. The check typically arrives 2 to 3 months after I leave, so I'll get it in late January/early February. I always assumed it would be taxed kind of like a regular paycheck. And since I'm in a new tax year and will have a lot less income from my pension, I wasn't worried about how it would affect my 2027 taxes.

However, a friend who I think knows what she's talking about said, "Nope. There's a straight 22% that comes off a vacation lump sum."

Well, that ain't great, but if I end up getting part back at the end of the year, or it helps cover part of the taxes coming out of what I take out of my IRA, it's not terrible. But if it's some sort of "penalty tax", I may start blowing through my vacation before I leave.

Thoughts? And please "explain it like I'm 5".
