Conduit runs in backyard for future proof any electrical needs down range (PIC Attached)

Conduit runs in backyard for future proof any electrical needs down range (PIC Attached)

Hey all DIY'er trying to future proof my backyard with conduit before they finish up a pool and patio and hoping for some advice.

Below is a photo of my backyard and my planned conduit runs and sizes.  They will only be for 120V circuits (3 conductor).  (I will have another conduit for any low voltage/cat5/or similar).

There will be an outdoor electrical panel and from there I'll run 1.5" conduit to the outdoor kitchen where I have some space underneath.  From the outdoor kitchen, 1" conduit to all of the "red circles".  This is where I will possibly add outdoor landscape lights, outlets, or similar.

DIY'er so please keep that in mind when giving some feedback, ha!

Outdoor Front / Back yard RGBW Landscape Lighting setup - Best approach (DigiOcto or Uno) [PIC w/ Plan attached]

I'm starting to plan my landscape lighting.  I had a friend that does work with VOLT/AMP to layout what they would do (See attached Pic) so I can then adapt it to some addressable RGBW landscape lighting, it's not exactly what I'm doing but will be very similar.  I bought the below lights (1 of each) from Ray Wu AliExpress to test out and will most likely use them for entire project.  Have some questions and hoping to get some guidance.

 LIGHTS:

  1. 10W RGBW 12V UCS2904 30 degree beam
  2. 10W RGBW 12V USC2904 Flood
  3. 10W RGBW 12V USC2904 Spot 5 degree
  4. 12W RGBW 12V USC2904 Spot 120 degree
  5. 12W RGBW 12V USC2904 Path

 RUNS:

#1/YELLOW - 15 lights about 120 feet from PSU  (Lights start approximately 20' from planned NEMA)

#2/RED - 10 lights about 150 feet from PSU  (2 Lights next to NEMA, rest about 100')

#3/GREEN - 12 lights about 120 feet from PSU (Lights start approximately 20' from NEMA)

#4/ORANGE - 8 lights about 150 feet from PSU (lights start approximately 50' from NEMA)

 QUESTIONS:

  1. Should I use a QuinLed DigiOcta in NEMA everything home runs there - concern is the AWG of wire from there to lights, probably would need 8AWG based off some initial calculations.
  2. Use Digi Uno's for each run and setup PSU in NEMA at start or very close to each run?  Running 120V AC to each box?
  3. RUN 1 & 3 - Setup 2x Diga Unos/NEMA at Home Base & RUN 2 & 4 put in Digi Unos/NEMA at start of run hidden in landscape bed?
  4. Concern if I have DigiUnos at start of each run, Would the WiFi be strong enough if their in an ABS NEMA and I have an access point outside?  OR should I run ethernet to each location, I've always been a hardwire is best if possible guy.
  5. Anything you see I'm missing? Or another route that would be best?

(planning to use direct burial wire vs. conduit)

Thanks in advance!!

Material List for Outdoor Build advice/ quick look - Pics Attached

Hey all, I’m planning to build an outdoor hip-roof pavilion with help of builder/friend.  I need to create a material list for my local lumber yard, I was able to obtain blueprints for a 16x30 and tried to throw them into AI and generate a Material List.  Attached the photos for the plans/list/final structure example (note the actual photo is just example, my structure will have 6 posts). I’m looking to see if 1) anyone can take a look and lmk if it’s accurate or 2) suggestions on how to check the list, find local framer and ask?

Edit - I don't plan on relying on AI or random suggestions - basically looking (if it's possible/easy) for somoene to say, "yeah your material list looks about right" or "WTF is that, way off" and also provide some advice on below lumber material.

In addition, few other questions I have for the build:

·         I ultimately want it to be 15x30, but material list was generated based on the 16x30 plans – assuming I can just go with that, then ask my builder/friend to make it 15x30 instead of 16x30?  And that anyone that knows there stuff should be able to do that no problem?

·         Does the lumber list look right?

·         Should beams/headers be LVL instead of triple 2x10?

·         Should all lumber be Pressure Treated or only the Posts?

·         I want to expose the ceiling and stain the beams, what lumber is best for this, if PT can that be stained?

Appreciate any feedback.

Best practice tackling "horizontal" curve w/ FCOB 2814 mounted under overhang (pic)

How would you all tackle this curve? I plan to mount FCOB 2814 24V 784LED/M lights below a very similar overhang in an outdoor kitchen following the red line. When I did it about 10 years ago I just used short pieces to make a hexagon, but it was a pain. Any thoughts?

So i'm getting closer on my install and I did open source and AI research, but wanted to get opinions from those who acutally have done it as I only trust AI as far as I can throw it 😉

BACKGROUND:

Using LED strips on each step (paver block) coming out of our house. Each step will have it's own LED strip in a aluminum channel approx 15' in length. Main Chase Conduit (1 1/4") will be run inside the landing with 1/2" branch conduit to the strips with everything in a NEMA box on the side of the landing hidden by landscaping.

EQUIPMENT:

  • LED Strips:  6x FCOB 24V RGBWW WS2814 IP66  (784 LED/m)
    • Power per step=~96W, Total 6 Steps=~575W
  • PSU: 3x Mean Well HLG‑240H‑24A (2 strips per PSU)
  • Fuse Block: Blue Sea 5026 - 12 Circuit w/ Common Ground
  • Controller: QuinLED-Dig-Octa
  • Fuse: 5 A fuse each step

WIRE PLAN/DISTANCES:

  • 10 AWG (short run inside NEMA) - PSU to Fuse block
  • 14 AWG (approx 30' to end injection) - 24+ & GND Fuse block to End Injection
  • 14 AWG (approx 15' to front strip) - 24+ & GND Fuse block to Front Injection
  • 22 AWG Shielded (approx 15') - DATA
    • Belden 8723 or Southwire 22/2 Shielded?

QUESTIONS:

  • Do the planned wiring AWG look good?
  • With wire so expensive now, any recommendations where to purchase - online vs. local supply house?
  • Any suggestions on above planned setup?

Appreciate it!

Hey all... I'm working on some outdoor lights for my cousin, using FCOB lighting from BTF and most likely setup a WLED controller. Pretty confident in my setup with quality PSU, Wiring, Installation. My question is - If you had to grade the quality of FCOB LED Strips from say BTF-Lighting or similar, what would you say? Pro-Sumer, pro, consumer level? These would be under outdoor kitchens or hardscapes.

Reason I ask is I have more people asking for same type of setup, they are usually higher end designs and I want to make sure I'm giving a higher end final product. While many wont utilize the full potential of WLED, I can at least set that up on the iphone as an App vs client being locked into proprietary brand (luminaire or amp).

Who know's maybe Luminaires leds are manufactured same place BTF lighting or similar are.. ha

Not sure if that makes sense...
