An Ode to the person who leased the 2024 Limited I just bought.

I'll never know who you are, but THANK YOU.

You babied this car, obviously. It's pristine inside and out. I got basically a new car, minus the first two years' depreciation. I appreciate the care you took with this car.

I know all the horror stories about the ICCU, and my son's in-laws had an inverter go out. But the odds of that happening to me are fairly low, so I'm going to enjoy this car every day that it's trouble free.

It's quiet and smooth and I'm coming from a manual shifter, so driving this thing is like a moving meditation. And of course, cruising right by those gas stations makes me chuckle.

So if you're reading this, and on the fence - don't listen to the nay-sayers. This is one of the best cars I've owned. Probably the last one too, at my age. But worth it.

11/10 would recommend.

PG&E Customers who buy a Used Ioniq - Get a $1000 rebate

Stumbled on this in another post (thanks, u/immediateNote5457)on this forum, but if you've purchased a used EV within the last 180 days, PGE will send you a check for $1,000. If you meet income requirements, the rebate may be even higher ($4,000).

Here's the link: https://evrebates.pge.com

I was on hold for just over 2 hours today to find out the status of my refund. I filed (using TurboTax) on March 20th. I've been checking the status online (https://www.irs.gov/refunds), with no change since I filed. I went to find more details by navigating to Tax Records, then Transcripts.

https://preview.redd.it/h815mj1eqlzg1.png?width=1191&format=png&auto=webp&s=2b7c01a82c7cbe247037d7f24159b8e00004d7df

For info, "Account Transcripts" is a one page version of the "Record of Account Transcripts", and has a little more info about when your return was received by the IRS. The "Tax Return Filed" date is NOT when you filed. Scroll down and you'll see "Received Date" which is when the IRS actually received the return.

This is (apparently) the same information that the Customer Service Rep will access, and then read back to you.

Her advice: review your return to make sure that everything was entered correctly. If you see any mistakes, file an amended return. If you don't see any mistakes, you don't need to do anything. I was a little confused by an entry that said "Notice Issued" with a date of May 18th (12 days from now). She said that's when they will mail the notice of what information they need. Respond to that when you get it (she couldn't tell me what the notice would say.)

FWIW: We filed the Solar Tax credit, and I suspect they want to see the receipt/ other proof that we actually installed the system we're claiming credit for.
