Cebu Concert Etiquette - Did you experience this too?

3 times na akong naka-attend ng concert sa Cebu, including 2 years straight sa Playback Music Festival, pero honestly… bakit parang sobrang poor ng concert etiquette dito minsan? 😅

Isa sa pinaka napapansin ko talaga yung mga nasa likod na seats tapos biglang pupunta sa harap during the most awaited song para lang makapag-video or pics. Ending, nabablock nila yung view ng mga taong nagbayad nang mas mahal just to secure good seats in the first place.

Tapos yung guards parang nahihiya pa manita kahit obvious nang nakakaabala na silaz

Last night, may nakita pa akong girl na sinita yung isang guy kasi harang na talaga sila sa view. Pero yung guy pa yung galit at sumigaw pabalik.

Last year, na-experience pa namin na bigla raw na-move yung seats namin on the same day ng concert dahil may “changes” daw sa seat plan. Siyempre, pinaglalaban talaga namin yung seats namin kasi maaga kaming bumili at mas mahal yung binayad para sa pwesto na yun.

Tapos pagpasok namin sa venue, surprise!!! Nagdagdag pa sila ng another row of seats sa harap namin 😭 Imagine expecting to be front row, only to find out na hindi na pala kasi ginawang reserved/management seats yung nasa unahan. Medyo nakakawalang gana lang kasi parang unfair sa mga concertgoers na nagbayad nang maayos just to secure those spots. 💀

Pero honestly… parang the Cebuano crowd still isn’t giving 😭 Parang ang hirap lang minsan mag-enjoy fully when basic concert etiquette and proper crowd control feel nonexistent.

Playback Music Festival

This is my fourth (?) time attending, fifth if kasali ang Playback Pop. Always grabe ang tama ng music na kinalakihan mo. There's this surge of emotion that you associate with each of the song. And the artists really appreciate the audience. Ang lakas ng throwback that it leaves you feeling floating from nostalgia after the concert.

On the other hand, I'm glad I took the SVIP seats. Halos ubos na ang energy ni Angkol nung Dashboard Confessional na pero nailaban naman. 😅

Ako pala ang nagpost na iniwan ako ng pacer ko.

Even though I have moved on from the issue, it still stings whenever my friends joke about it.

Days ago I joined another race, this time without a pacer na. Nothing unusual until nung pabalik na ako. A few meters ahead and I somehow recognize the back profile of the runner. Si pacer pala yun. I still felt good so an idea came into my mind.

Bigla kong binilisan ang pace ko and wanted to exhaust all of my stored energy. My watch buzzed saying my heart rate has reached 180-190. I didn't care, I just wanted to exhaust all of my energy and blast ahead of him (wag tularan pls!). The more I get closer to him, the more my spite and drive grew. I didn't mind na talaga. I told myself: "it was the last 5km na anyway, might as well give your all".

By 3kms remaining finally nalagpasan ko siya. I'm not sure he recognized me given that I did not wear the event shirt basta ang sarap sa feeling at napa exhale ako ng malakas sa unahan. I felt lighter and faster knowing that the person who left me is now behind me.

Somehow after getting the medal my angst against him vanished. I didn't see him after but checking the online results, I ranked 20 place higher than him. I guess iba talaga ang result if you wanted to prove something ha ha.

So yun, see you sa next race and I am not intimidated by you anymore :)
