Should I suspect my smartphone habits?

I spend around 7.5-8 hours on smartphone. Maybe this could be the reason behind my brain is not working properly.

Problems I face -

  1. Trouble following someone's instructions

  2. Forget the tasks I am supposed to do

  3. Sometimes forget items I am supposed to buy

  4. Lacking presence of mind often

  5. Making silly mistakes while doing some task after fair amount of time

  6. There are some things which I used to remember in past but no longer can recall it.

  7. I feel mentally overwhelmed whenever I try to learn some hard thing.

I don't smoke or drink. People often complain about my brain fade or dumbness.

I hate the climate of India

Just two months of good weather - February and November. December, January is too cold. March is the beginning of heat. From March to October, I have to tolerate so much sweat and heat.

If any place in India has good climate, it is in higher altitude. Who lives in hills? Infra is hard to develop there.

Atleast winters don't have electricity issue. From summers to monsoon, frequent power cuts are a norm. Monsoon is terrible as hell too. When it doesn't rains, you get drenched in sweat. 33°C and humidity is not a pleasant thing. Power cuts are common in monsoon due to rains or strong winds.

Currently it's summers. Whenever it's power cut, I cannot tolerate it at all. Most part of the year, it's so unpleasant. Winters are still better if you remove fog. I will have to wait for 6 months to relax.

The coastal cities in India don't have cold or blistering heat but they have drenching heat whole year. I want to settle in Uttarakhand but monsoon and winters would be very terrible.

Talking bad about parents have become a thing these days

Yesterday, a youtuber guy named "Open Letter" made a video on parents and loneliness. Comment section was full of people criticising parents.

People tend to generalise all parents as same. They bring their own story and think other parents are also like them. Some people bring up the "Indian" thing about parents as if it is a case only in our country. They don't realize that everywhere across the globe there will be parents with flaws.

They think they won't be like their parents but eventually they end up as their parents at their age. 20 years ago, we had the same mentality of youngsters. Those youngsters are now 40+ and they have 11-12 year old kids. I am waiting what kids born after 2030 has to say of their parents.

Nobody is right or wrong. It's just different mentality or going through some experience in life. Maybe our mentality changes once we are in 40s. Life experiences of a person shapes his parenting style. I don't think anyone can be a flawless parent. They don't know what parents of their parents have seen in their life.

Biharis are being wrongly stereotyped negatively

I am from Lucknow, the capital of UP. I am from an urban middle class family. All the Biharis I have met were super smart and academically good irrespective of their socio-economic status.

I don't know why Biharis are equated with uneducated and savagery in social media. They tend to be so intelligent and hardworking. I have come across many really super smart kind of Biharis, the level of intellectualism I cannot find here.

They get hate without any reason, maybe it's due to their politicians and some famous singers who make vulgar songs. Biharis living out of Bihar are doing a really good work. They manage to get admission in top universities of Delhi. They have a lot of name in overseas too.

I equate Biharis with intellectuals and academically good. They represent a lot in IAS/IPS. Bihar just lacks resources and honest leaders. It is losing it's intellectuals to other places. That shows IQ of people doesn't equal to more development.

This country is absolutely terrible for seniors

There is no social and financial security for seniors. They are being retired at an early age of 60 (65 in US). Old people don't have any pension except those in govt jobs. The pension our seniors get is a small amount of 2-3K Atal pension yojana. What the hell is this pension? It is equivalent to zero money. Now I understood the reason behind craze for govt jobs.

Seniors have to rely on their children's income after retirement. It's a concern for seniors if their child fail to earn enough at the time of retirement.

Their survival strategy - marry instantly when career is settled, push their children to get employment soon or get better jobs..

Seniors fail to live alone from their kids. If they have like 3-4 lakhs, they can stay in some Hindu ashram where their caretakers will look after them.

Govt does nothing for the elderly. They don't even get employment to support themselves. What if they lose their children? Who is going to feed them?

Stuck between too many options

I am planning to attempt a govt job exam to secure a job as soon as possible. I am in late 20s and general category who did only BA.

I know I will never try to attempt UPSC but there are still many govt exams which I am not even aware of. There are many like that and I find pros and cons in all of that. This is the reason why I cannot pick one. I fear if I pick the most impossible one, my job will get delayed.

I don't want to attend tuitions for exams. I want to self-study. There are so many govt exams which I am eager to give but can't decide which to give. I don't have any idea about the process of selection. I don't know the nature of job. I am not aware of syllabus - except English and reasoning.

How do I try to figure out best for me so that I can attain a job soon?

Best time to get married as a man?

I don't know when will I get employment. If I get employment very late, then my marriageable age will also cease.

I cannot even decide to marry at such a low salary even if I start from somewhere. Life is too short.

After being financially settled, I want to enjoy some years before getting married. Again my time will go away.

After a certain time, it is really difficult to get a proper match. I did mistake by not starting early enough.

I am feeling the effects of overpopulation in this country

Why it's hard for me to find rent in a planned colony? Why land is so expensive even in mediocre areas? Why there is cut throat environment in workplace? Why cows in residential areas? There are so many problems other than that.

Whenever I go out at 9.30am, I am stuck in a jam. It's hard to reach in time. I see vendors occupying space in roads. Afterall, they had to survive.

There are no proper boundaries between residential, commercial, agricultural and industrial areas. You will find farmland near a housing society. You will find factories around homes. Sadly, even rural areas are becoming residential. People construct houses there but roads and infra have no change at all. Those same thin roads and frequent power cuts.

Oh, power cuts! It's an interesting topic. It is difficult to supply constant electricity to such a large populace. For job vacancies, people compete with 90 others for one post. It is difficult to give land to offices and industries because govt will have to give huge aide to farmers.

1.43 billion people living in this country is hell. 400-500 million people is still manageable. Also too many of them in agriculture. How is govt supposed to do development in such a cramped country? This Ganges and Yamuna River and fertile and rich soil of Gangetic plains is more of a curse than boon. Too many people have settled in this zone historically. Too many of them in agriculture and that's why they have small landholdings. Bihar, Bengal and Purvanchal are the most areas.

I cannot even find seats in train. Govt cannot increase trains by 10 fold.

How do I gain nutritional knowledge to improve my health?

I have no idea what a healthy diet looks like. I am also not that rich to obtain a proper healthy diet. I want to have a healthy diet so that I can stay energetic for longer and my brain functions well. I don't care about physical aesthetics.

I'm a working person which requires presence of mind, long working hours and better cognition. I lack proper knowledge about good nutrition due to mixed info on internet.

Physicians don't specify properly, either on internet or offline. It's like I have to be knowledgeable enough to handle my health.

I have failed to follow my roots

I'm a Bengali who lives in UP. I was born and raised here. I cannot read Bengali script but I can speak Bengali in a non-fluent way. Isn't this a shame?

I speak English, Hindi and Bengali. I often mix Hindi words while speaking Bengali. My parents speak clear and fluent Bengali. My English is also very poor, Hindi is fine. My parents are fluent in English as well as Bengali. I am not kid at all, I am in mid 20s.

I don't even have Bengali habits. I cannot eat rice with hands, I use spoon. I don't wear Bengali male attire in Durga puja, instead I come in jeans and shirt. It seems like my parents failed to teach me about their roots. They raised me like a British. Using spoons, wtf is that?

I was not a good student at school. I have a dull and low iq brain. Bengalis don't raise their kids like that. They make their kids study really hard, score well and become intelligent. College teacher once said I should have been a topper cuz I am Bengali. Bengali mentality puts a lot of value on education and intelligence. I grew up as a duffer.

I am a very shy, quiet and reserved kind of person. This trait is not at all respected in Bengali culture. I am supposed to be argumentative, loud, fiery tempered and talkative. People say, what kind of Bengali am I?

Other Indians are so attached to their individual cultures and habits but I am a rare species.

Smartphones are ruining the lives of people

It is ideal to restrict smartphone usage upto 3 hours a day. Many people you will find who spend 7 hours, 9 hours or 12 hours on smartphone daily. Many people who are in work get distracted by smartphone and don't pay attention.

This device is really bad for sleep. I regularly sleep 4-5 hours a day. Smartphone usage affects sleep, then the poor sleep affects your brain, health and emotions. People are nowadays more introvert and socially awkward due to being hooked to phone. Social life has taken a hit.

ADHD cases are rising rapidly these days due to this gadget. Youths these days become impatient by watching long videos, they prefer shorts. This results in silly mistakes at work. They are losing spare time for fun due to time waste on phone. They wonder why work life balance has become so hard these days.

This crazy device has altered our dopamine system. People are becoming more depressed, irritable, sad and stressed. I have developed brain fog due to using smartphone for 7 hours daily. Brain rot came as a definition only due to this.

Using Instagram is destroying my life

I spend around 1-1.5 hours on Instagram daily. I don't even do any professional work, just compulsive mindless scrolling. Nowadays I am bored but still I watch and scroll.

What I do in Instagram is very embarrassing. I just follow only female influencers just to watch them and feel attraction. I find them appealing. I made them my "ejaculation material". I even run a fetish page where I have like 10 posts, 6 followers and multiple stories but that's a private account. I only post content about influencer women I usually watch.

Whenever I get up from sleep every morning, the first thing I do is to check and watch Instagram. I am losing focus in life. I am supposed to give my energy to something else which is stressful but good for my development. Instagram is like a trap and escape.

I am a virgin because I don't find girls in real life to be as appealing as those influencers I see on Instagram. When I find some interesting influencer on insta, I keep on scrolling more and more to find more like them.

This kind of heat is far worse

Temperatures aren't that high but humidity levels are making heat sensation far worse. Max temp are like 35-37 but it is as uncomfortable as 48-49.

Moist heat feels like you are in a sauna. Dry blazing heat which was 2 weeks ago was still better at 42-43 degrees.

Whole shirt is draped in sweat. Hate to do any work. This is also very dangerous for people roaming outside too. Now I wonder why people hate to live in Mumbai or Kolkata.

This Kolkata type of heat in Lucknow I don't like at all.
