double helix won’t heal and it’s about to be a year?

Hi there,

I have my lobes, second lobes, single helix on left ear and double helix on right ear done.

Originally I wanted 2 single helix on both side, then when they heal I wanted to get the second on the right. Piercer did not agree and said do one ear then the other separately so had single helix done on left in spring, then double helix on the right in summer. She did my lobes all at the same time though.

My lobes have healed, and so did the single helix. They healed within a month sometime last spring. However, the double helix on my right just won’t heal. I think it’s because it can’t take the 2.

Not sure if this matter but piercer did them slightly crooked.
At first I thought I must be sleeping on it, or I’m not cleaning it with the mist they give but no. One has a bump at the back and the other has a bump at the front. It gets crusty and it swells if I touch it for too long. Asked piercer for help and they just said ‘yeah it’s swollen’ and that’s it.

Any advice would be appreciated. I do not want to take them out as I’m not paying to have them done again.

I have 2 14k gold bars (barbell?) in, I think it is internally threaded, the same material and style as I had the single helix. I don’t understand why it won’t heal and even tried swapping the jewellery in case it was too big a few months ago but did not help as I can’t see a hole like I can in my other ear. It was a pain in the ass and it got so swollen I had to temporarily wear a thin tiny hoop as it was the only thing that would go through. Once the swelling went down I put the original bars back in.

My routine is normal just shower, use the aftercare mist. However in our culture we sometimes use oil and my mum kept saying to use it. I kept saying no but tried it a few weeks ago and it’s the only thing that helps slightly. Keeps the piercing clean and my skin in the crevice soft. Has helped with swelling/redness slightly too. I haven’t touched it since I tried to change the jewellery (not like it will move anyway since it’s swollen) and I don’t sleep on it.

Bought the Loop Switch 2!

Hi guys,
Thanks for the advice on my last post. I ended up trying the Loop Switch 2 as I believe it also has the quiet mode which I thought I might like. I went to a concert and tried it and they were great the vibes were good and I think they protected my ears okay (to be fair I was right next to the speakers at the front).

However, I cannot seem to tell the difference between the modes. I switched them during the concert and didn’t feel a difference, I also tried it out in public. Am I doing something wrong here? Any help would be appreciated.

Any advice for new starter on night shift?

Hi there,

I got sick of dealing with customers in my last job so applied for night shifts where there is 0 interaction and managed to get one at Morrisons. I had my first shift and enjoyed the peace but I am working much too slow.

My manager said to not even think about the timing or how fast I’m going and to just focus on finding which products go where, so I’m not feeling the pressure from him it’s more myself. I only managed to clear 1 pallet and when I finished at 6am there were about 5-6 items left on the second pallet so nearly finished.

I actually really enjoyed it and all my coworkers have been nice. I have cuts on my hands so if anyone could recommend gloves or something to protect myself with please let me know. I also struggled to open/cut the plastic on some cases so would like any advice. And of course if you have any tips on working faster that would also be appreciated. Thanks!

I’m mainly wanting to use these earplugs for concerts/festivals/the club but still want to be able to hear the music and the little sounds on stage. Was originally thinking of Loop earplugs but Alpine seems the way to go. Only thing is now I can’t pick between Tune or Musicsafe. I would’ve gona with Tune if it was just every now and then but this year is the year of concerts for me and I’m going to one almost every 2-3 weeks until August/September so really want to protect my hearing.

Not too fussed about the design/style.
Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks a lot
