To the stores with party city, what's it like?

I work at one of the stores that dodged the renovation because the town it's in has a helium ban.

What I'm wondering is, what's it like? I see people complain about it on the Reddit but I'm curious if it's just similar complaints to when...the other tumor of a department...was added.

Recycling charge backfire

We had multiple people today come in, hear that we now charge for recycling printers, and just drop them off anyways and leave to "get their wallet out of their car".

Methinks this'll be an ongoing occurrence, since people earlier this week did the same with leaving bags if batteries in the tech recycling and walking out.

Any of y'all born and raised on the Cape?

I live on the outer cape and all my old school age friends from the mid and upper cape are almost all out of state now.

The only ones of us that stayed are ones who...*cough cough* can't live alone *cough cough* (including myself ofc)

So yeah, to restate the question, any of y'all actual born and raised locals too?

I used to like them as a company, or at least tolerate them...

Then last when they were closing their "underperforming stores" they kinda just...closed EVERY GameStop within a 2-3 hours drive from my house.

While not giving my exact location, Ill just say that it's quicker to take a FERRY to the closest GameStop for me than drive. It's so frustrating that I now have to rely on department stores to get physical games locally. (Or having to scavenge yard sales & flea markets because God forbid I want to buy a used game)

Edit: Also, shopping online at GameStop is such a gamble that I don't even bother anyone. Since, even if a game is authentic, I don't even know its condition besides "working, probably".

And I'm not talking about any gripes with the process itself or anything of the sort. This is about Amazon products themselves.

I'm just saying that...after seeing the sheer VOLUME of items that go through just our single store just during my shift just turns me away from ever shopping with them at all.

I will only ever buy food off Amazon now because of how many faulty products I see on the daily. It's personally sickening to me the clear lack of QC at Amazon in any department.

I heard via my managers that Staples is going to start charging for everything that's not ink/toner or "other electronics".

Is this true or did I misunderstand? I already knew we'd start charging for batteries and printer recycling alongside the current charge for monitors (which I also heard is getting a fee hike).

After that point...I'll be honest, I see absolutely little to no reason anyone would wanna sign up for rewards besides ink/toner recycling credits, various app coupons, or to get email as an option during checkout.

Edit: I got clarification, it IS just for monitors, batteries, and printers.
