Why isn’t Denuvo on every Nintendo game now

With how effective Denuvo is as a deterrent against PC cracking and Nintendo’s long-standing issue with Switch emulation, why isn’t Denuvo simply on every single game? It’s there sometimes but it’s not as used as PC publishers.

Does James deserve prison

I watched a NSFL documentary that I'll just cautiously describe as a man agreeing to being murdered. The guy that did it at his behest is set for a death penalty anyway.

In all versions of SH2, Mary definitely did not agree to being smothered to death and even fights back in the remake.

So that means even in the Leave ending, James is gonna be probed for a police investigation and jailed if found right?

It's interesting how casually Star Fox mentions terms related to death

I've been replaying all Star Fox games in anticipation for the 2026 game soon, from SF1 to Zero, and I just gotta say, I'm shocked how many times "death, die, kill, and killed" are all said in the dialogue. It's not spammed in an edgy way like I insinuate, but they're said enough across all the games it's notable - particularly in regards to James McCloud; the characters never mince words saying he's dead and Andross killed him. Boss banter across the series frequently also has the bosses boasting they're simply gonna kill you.

For a series aimed at small children with funny talking animals, it's pretty interesting since a lot of these games (barring Zero) came from an era where notions of death were censored out to "disappear, eliminate" etc.

Even relative to Nintendo's other darker core IPs, I don't think I can remember such terms being used that much openly.

Melia kind of looked like a muppet in the Wii game

I just stumbled across this and yes, technology marches in, but it's just funny Wii era Melia looks like a muppet with the big mouth. The new Melia is so pretty by side comparison.

Is there a reason to play the NES era games that got remade?

I am probably going to be getting into Fire Emblem soon from the beginning and have prepared myself thoroughly in advance.

But I just noticed that most of the pre-GBA NES/SNES Fire Emblem games have been remade. So in those instances, is there a solid reason to play the previous iteration besides novelty? Like Gaiden to SoV, Shadow Dragon to the DS version, and so on.

I believe Thragg's adaptational badassery will hurt the show down the line

Comic readers will know that while Thragg was badass in the comics, the adaptational glowup where he doesn't take any damage or even flinch from other Viltrumites was not a thing in the comics. While Mark only ever did superficial damage to Thragg in the comics until the very end, it was still something, and he got annoyed when Mark managed to touch him compared to not even registering him in the show.

A pivotal moment I question the change for is when Thragg is eventually confronted by the other Viltrumites over Nolan, it's shown that a pack of Viltrumites ganging up on Thragg can overwhelm him in simple combat. I do not see how that is going to be feasible with TV Thragg.

And with how untouchable he is, how are Mark's occasional skirmishes with Thragg going to later play out is a point of contention.

Did it bother you Ganondorf killed someone on-screen in TP back then?

Not right now since demographics have changed, but when Nintendo was more about family friendly back in the early 2000s, did it bother you when Ganondorf just straight up murdered someone on-screen? No ambiguity, he just annihilates said person with his fists while relishing in it. And the preceding scene to this was Ganondorf on a public execution on another note, we even see him technically die.

For the time, it must have just been unprecedented for such a display to be in a Nintendo game of all things. I thought it was a great scene but it must’ve scared people since the scene is dead serious.

How did they make Chaos;Head and Child 12 episode anime work

I haven't seen either, but I just don't think the size of either of these VNs - but especially Child, could possibly fit into 12 episode anime cours.

How did they make it work.

It feels wrong how good Sacred Beasts have it compared to the Egyptian Gods

The Sacred Beasts are supposed to be knock-offs of the iconic Egyptian God Cards, but have received so much love from Konami in recent years compared to them. The Egyptian God cards are still not unified, don't have any cohesive decks supporting them individually, and only occasionally get a meme card like Soul Energy MAX or Dangers of the Divine. They struggle to even get basic searchers printed now.

The Sacred Beasts by contrast got a structure deck that unifies all three monsters into one coherent and very modern deck. While the deck involving the Beasts itself was just casual (bogged down by the OG bosses), the Gates/Beckoning engine itself became a meta-defining threat that's still good even today in Fiend piles. Both sides of the community could be happy though. Years later, Sacred Beasts get Hebrew art luxury collector cards, a beautiful Overframe, and another massive wave of new cards that has made them competitively viable - already showing promising results in OCG. Seriously, the new cards just addressed basically everything while keeping the fantasy of the deck: field still draws 2, the bosses now have their signature abilities previously on other cards on the bosses themselves, etc.

Now, I know time is always a factor and we might get to the Egyptian Gods one day, but for now, this is kind of crazy considering how the Egyptian God Card are supposed to be the original icons.

Just saying, I did not like how Nintendo acknowledged Star Fox Adventures as an important piece of history. And say what you will of time constraints on the showcase, the fact it was there but Assault and Command weren't just implies a lot - but most of all that Nintendo doesn't regret it exists.

The game should be treated like Devil May Cry 2 from Capcom.

JW what everyone here thinks; should more JRPGs have this. So in Lunar Dragon Song (DS), you can't actually choose targets in battle. You just select attack abilities and your character will randomly decide. This adds tension to the game since you can't just do the basic of killing the healer or mage first

I just noticed that the 11 million view AMV of "remember me" by d4vd was smited by Riot today while I was browsing other news. It used to even be officially hosted by Riot's channel.

Any thoughts

I never got to ask this until now but it’s worth noting Anno isn’t exactly the nicest person (very perceptive and watchful of people) and Evangelion is such a legendary IP.

I recall Anno said he would not mind giving the reins to someone else one day when he presumably decides on the person after Rebuild. Well he chose Yoko Taro it seems; I’m going to assume the rather long wait was because he’s not just going to have anyone at the helm.

This guy is known mainly for making eccentric games so it’s quite a call for such a man to be granted this honor than an apprentice of his.

There's more to go by, but just sharing some of my favorites. I remember getting excited for the XB3 artbook leaks and came out extremely disappointed because apart from a non-erotic nude sketch, there was nothing fanservicy to my memory.

I have been watching the Boys recently as a newcomer and upon seeing Giancarlo Esposito's portrayal of Edgar, you would immediately think Gus Fring based on the actor's face, suit, and sophisticated and polite businessman front. But the moment Edgar is behind closed doors and dealing with someone like Homelander, he swears and uses crass vocabulary like "manchild" and has a quick temper. You would never expect to hear "bullshit" said out of Gus' mouth.

So when I thought back on it, I think it's a really admirable quality Gus' politeness is not a front. He never swore or particularly lost his temper despite the terrible situations he was put into when dealing with a loose cannon like Walt.

Tier lists are always subjective, but there seems to be an agreeable general consensus on V at the end.

One of those accepted sentiments is Dan was not anywhere near the worst character. It's just surreal because he's supposed to be the joke character/wasted slot but wound up in the middle of the pack statistically.

Was that even Capcom's intention?
