I haven’t even stepped there yet, but farewell, UST-AMV.

It’s embarrassing that after all my posts and comments here, I still wouldn’t be able to pursue my studies at UST.

We don’t have the money and my family finalized that downpayment on top of the reservation fee is too risky to gamble with.

Despite financial limitations, I will always remember how the ustet results allowed me, even for a short time, to dream higher.

Posting this here feels like I’m imposing and I’m very sorry.

UPD: Can waitlisters recon for programs not listed in theur prog choices?

For some dum reason, I chose Public Administration as my first choice program at UPD. Now I got waitlisted, and I don't really want it.

  1. Can I recon to other programs not listed in in my prog choices in UPD?

  2. Can I appeal to UPLB with it as my second campus choice?

  3. Why or why should I not accept public administration if incase I get a slot? (need some insights here)

I am quiet lost and I need some advice.

Context: I applied at TSU, UST, UP, PUP, CLSU + DOST-SEI. Will not pursue TSU for program reasons. Passed UST AMV-Accountancy. Waitlisted in UPD BPA. Waiting for PUPCET results. Currently enrolled in CLSU Accountancy.

I don’t want to go into details. But the problem is financial. My family wants me to settle in CLSU and I don’t want to. I am capable of getting scholarships and working. Retention grades are also not a problem for me.

I am pushing for UST and the San Lorenzo Ruiz scholarship but it feels hopeless. I’m almost complete with the requirements but the whole family is discouraging me from going. My father threatened me to not send allowance if I enroll in UST. My mother gave me 10k for reservation fee with an additional 500% of guilt-tripping. I want UST because I believe I will grow there the most as an accountancy student. The students’ suffering there makes me want to take up the challenge. But ultimately, UST is a fading dream.

UPD is also not an option for my relatives. I didn’t know back then that they wanted me to study a board program. I listed BPA as my first choice but getting a slot there now would still not convince my family. Note: My mother told the whole family I failed the UPCAT because she didn’t want the program I got waitlisted in. Shifting and recons are hectic processes that I don’t think I can handle given my family’s 0 support.

I’m kind of hesitant to talk about PUP due to the guidelines of this group. But not gonna lie, I think I have bagged the 1st day enrollment schedule because the exam was so easy. I want to study Accountancy there but I heard it was chaotic. However, if I pass the DOST -SEI Scholarship, I’m sure they will allow me to take up an engineering program there.

For CLSU, I know it’s a respectable university. But I just don’t feel like studying there. I know no one there. Eatablishments are relatively far from the university. I don’t like the environment. It’s basically my last choice. A good last choice since it’s still Accountancy.

My family is practically teaming up against me. Before, they encouraged me to apply in Universities in NCR and said I would be allowed to live with them. Now that they knew about CLSU, they said if I pursued college in Maynila, I can’t live with them. Talk about family.

This is 40% a help me decide post and a 60% I hope someone hears me out. Thank you if you read the whole thing.

Ano pong estimate na monthly expenses sa UST kung makuha ko yung 100 percent scholarship? I really need a figure now.

Pay the reservation fee. Apply to scholarship. Study happily at UST if I get one. Discontinue enrollment if I don’t.

May mga ate at kuya po ba rito na ganito ang naging plano dati? May mga scholarship-dependent po ba sa UST?

Ilang beses na ako nagpopost sa magiging difference ng accountancy sa UST vs other schools pero everyone suggests going for UST talaga.
