Dating as a dumpster diver

So like, I see girls posting in this sub all the time, girls my age.

Why is it then that every girl I've ever met thinks this is a gross hobby? Am I doomed to be forever alone because I have a passion for scavvin'? How do you guys handle this?

The easter miricle: 100lbs of meat

I was literally rolling up to the dumpster as the dude was throwing two huge boxes of fresh meat. As soon as he walked away I rolled up on my cargo bike and started looting. It was all still cold. I'm loading my cart up my cart.

Dude comes out when I'm about 80 percent done. "Hey uh... I'm supposed to tell you you can't pick through the trash like that..."

"And now you're on camera telling me. You've done you're job and gonna go back inside, right?"

"Uhh yeah I guess." And then he turned and left.

90 percent of the top shelf is a solid brick of meats. Bacon, beef, pork, good meats. Expensive meats. The protein crisis is over for us.

About 100lbs of potatoes

There are a few other things like a bag of peppers and a few onions but it's almost entirely potato. 1.5 vegetables crates. Very heavy. Gonna be a fun ride home.

Scavenger's hearty dinner

Got the potatoes, carrots and apple today from the dumpster and knew instantly what I was going to make. Had the gravy packet and broth can left over from a previous scavenge and the meat sticks were 20/$1 at my local discount food store. Probably 30 servings of hearty meat stew for $1 in ingredients, everything else from the dumpster. It's actually really good; like I wouldn't be offended if I was served this at a cafe for dinner.

Ma fell in love with these squishy cows from the red and white pharmacy

I was bringing her a bunch of medical stuff from the red and white pharmacy dumpster that she could use as these two cows were in the bag. She fell in love with them.

Someone saw me trying to carry 2 full black garbage bags of produce on a bike and gave me this trailer

I got a little loot greedy at the dumpsters today and was having to slowly make my way home on foot using the bike as a cart. They were like "hey I live like two blocks from here and the little dog that I would pull around in it passed away and I'd love to see it get put to use"

Place for my disabled homeless associate to park a car.

Hey all! It's your favorite local vagabond here

I'm trying to help a disabled associate find somewhere better than a ditch to sleep. I've got a line on a free station wagon (no title hasn't run in 10 years) that id like to use as a tent on wheels for him. I'm willing to arrange the tow, I just need somewhere to put it. Preferably an empty lot somewhere out of view of the public.

He's dependant on city amenities to not die, so something outside of town won't work. Something within 5 miles of Prescott or Prescott valley would be needed.

He's an idiot. I say that lovingly. He's got skitzophtenia and occasionally has "episodes" where he does minor property damage; hence why he can't stay where I'm currently living. He broke a door. He didn't mean to break the door, he wasn't in his right mind. He's not a bad dude 99 percent of the time, just really really slow. Then 1 percent of the time he's genuinely nuts.

He's got a social worker, but they clearly aren't doing much for him since he's actively sleeping in a drain pipe right now. I try to do what I can to help him but I'm barely not-homeless myself right now so there ain't much I can do other than offer him this station wagon.
