Any idea what these are?
These came in the lot I recently got off marketplace, they are elastic with the American Girl of Today logo on them but do not come off of the rigid plastic holder thing. As pictured one end can slip off but they are attached to the other. Google lens is no help 😭
PC Molly or Just Like You?
Picked up an INCREDIBLE lot of Pleasant Company dolls and clothes today from FB Marketplace! The lot included two PC Samanthas with their meet dresses, and what appears to be a mixed lot of AG of Today clothing, Samantha stuff, and Our Generation/handmade. Confusingly, there is also Molly's meet beret but no other Molly clothing.
Curious if anyone can tell if this particular doll was a Just Like You (#9 I think?) or Molly. The hair is wavy and looks like it was originally in two braids, but they were well played with and the lot came with the American Curls smock as well so it could have been intentionally curled.
I saved this Victorian amethyst ring from being melted down (plus my old"engagement ring")
Long story as short as possible. I'm divorced now. I kept the rings I bought my ex wife and returned the locket she gave me. Finally decided to sell them and buy something else that wouldn't make me sad to see on my finger. Fell in love with this Victorian amethyst ring at the pawn shop. They were too busy to show me, asked me to come back the next day. Returned. It was GONE. Asked if someone bought it. Wasn't coming up in their system as sold. Turns out the owner pulled it to sell for melt value. They called him and told him to bring it back. She's home and safe now!!!
The little three diamond ring I picked out and bought myself to wear as my engagement ring bc my now-ex proposed with an antique locket and I wanted a ring to wear on my finger too. Just wanted to wear them together and enjoy how they look 🥰
My therapist and I just discussed what to do with my ex wife's engagement and wedding bands (I returned the locket she gave me and kept the rings she wanted but never wore). I had originally sized them to fit me but they made me sad, so we agreed I'd sell them and pick a piece of jewelry I love and want to wear every single day and have a funny story to tell.
I tried to pawn them but because they are unusual, Gibeon meteorite and unspecified dinosaur bone, both set in cobalt chrome, the pawn shop couldn't take them. However, I fell in love with this Victorian amethyst ring, but they were too busy and asked if I could come back the next day.
I came back today and it was MISSING. It wasn't coming up as sold or on hold in their system, they eventually found it, the owner had pulled it for not selling and was going to scrap it tomorrow. They were able to pull it off the pile and I pick it up tomorrow 😮💨
They had a half off diamond jewelry sale as well, I picked out a gorgeous diamond set to add to my ring finger stack (will post in comments). I keep telling myself I Girl Mathed so good, as long as I am actually able to sell these rings on eBay and pay off my credit card 😂
Two opal pendants set in 14k gold I got at my local thrift on separate occasions! They are my absolute favorite stone and these two are so stunning in person. The first one is smaller and harder to photograph but just full of color flashes 😍
So excited about this, I'm decently happy with my easy morning routine but I do miss fresh coffee quite a bit. I've never had a nice, programmable coffee maker, in fact I switched to cold brew bc the cheap-o ones I was buying at Target or wherever kept breaking and I was sick of it.
Got this gorgeous gold chain with an opal and diamond pendant at the thrift store for a song today, I was kind of on the fence at first but was fascinated by the clasp, I've never seen anything like it! I'm assuming it's Victorian/Edwardian due to how experimental they were with clasp designs back then trying to figure out what worked the best, and there appears to be a patent or patent pending number etched on it, but I'll need to pull out my pocket microscope to read it.
Just curious before I go down the rabbit hole of trying to look up the patent number (I've had good luck and bad luck in the past, particularly with jewelry patents) if anyone knows anything about it.
Truth be told, it's an absolute pain in the ass to clasp versus a standard spring or lobster clasp, but does add to the charm 😂
Second photo of the pendant just because
Cleaned her up, swapped out her eyes and wig, and redid her face, need to get a finer paintbrush to finish her teeth and blush up her cheeks!
