So my friend's rishta was fixed in late January this year (roka) and he has been talking to his fiance daily ever since Jan. Let's call the fiance as rakhi

We haven't talked in like 1.5 months and this past Sunday i received a call from him at 12:30 AM. Call at 12:30 in night, never happened in 14 years of knowing him. Answered the call with fear and I am just going to summarise what he told me.

- his sister's sister in law (his jija Ji's real sister, let's call her laxmi) was in the same college with this girl, for UG and PG both. (Both girls don't know each other)

- few days after the roka, my friend's sister and her in-laws were discussing about the rishta (girl and her family), name of college from where she did her UG and PG comes up. Jijaji's family is like "laxmi bhi to same college me thi, you know each other?". Laxmi says no, because she doesn't know her.

- in coming days laxmi discusses with her college friends that how her bhabhi's brother got engaged to this girl from our college.

- pictures circulated in laxmi's friend circle.

- And laxmi gets to know things about rakhi, like serious THINGS.

- laxmi tells everything to her bhabhi (my friend's sister)

- And the rishta is cancelled.

- what did laxmi find?

- well, it turns out that rakhi, from 2nd year of UG has been in a relationship without this married professor.

- Allegedly had to go through abortion twice

- Allegedly is still seeing him

- Why Allegedly?

- Because laxmi's friends and other sources do have solid proofs about the 9 year long relationship but don't have concrete proofs of abortion and continuity of the relationship

- so my friend decided to leverage the half information he has and confronts rakhi.

- ofcourse rakhi denied everything, my friend than proceeds to drop things he got to know through laxmi. 1 thing at a time to make Rakhi believe that my friend knows too much. (When in reality he only knows like 35%, rest is still alleged)

- eventually Rakhi folds under pressure and accepted most of the things including 1 abortion.

- so now my friends family already knows it, through laxmi.

- Rakhi keeps calling bombing and message bombing my friend, begging crying and making pathetic excuses like "i was going to end it all before our engagement" (official ring ceremony). I will be super loyal to you, i will never look at anibo else etc etc.

- when it didn't work she switched tactics. "I never wanted to do all that, I was forced. He used me. I feel so dirty that I let someone touch me. He manipulated me into it (for 9 years 😂 all while she even knew that he was married) with you it was the first time i felt emotionally connected, talking to you made me realise what true love is (😂😂😂😂😂😂 2 month of talking on phone vs 9 years of relationship) and other blah blah blah.

- And the most funniest part. When my friend asked her "**why didn't you tell me about it before hand**".

- what does she reply???? "**AGAR BATA DETI TO SHADI KE LIYE HAAN NHI KRTE (IF I HAD TOLD YOU, YOU WOULDN'T HAVE AGREED TO MARRY)**"

- no sheet Sherlock that was the whole point 😂 to make a decision free of manipulation and lie.

- my friend's father informed that they won't proceed with this rishta because my friend doesn't want to. (my friend's family did not wanted to get involved is Rakhi's mess at all)

- Rakhi's family went all out on my friend's family for breaking the rishta and causing "samaj and rishtedaro me badnami"

- eventually my friend's father had to disclose a very filtered version of Rakhi's affair. Which did shut Rakhi's father.

- it all ended with Rakhi's father saying something like "if you don't want to proceed with the wedding say so, why are you making lies about my daughter" (diplomatic way of ending things without acknowledgement of wrongdoing)

- anyways good night, i just wanted to share all this drama, of which i have been a part of for past 5-6 days.
