IC Chicago

IC Chicago

I just checked out of a four night stay at the IC Chicago. I usually stay at the Kimpton Gray but they were booked, and based on what I have read here and on FT I was expecting a disappointing stay.

It was actually pretty great. Yes, the hotel is older and the carpet is fraying, but I got a decent upgrade as a Plat AMB from the lowest category room to a 1 king premium city view room in the executive tower.

I was traveling alone so didn't need a suite, and the room was plenty large enough for me. The view was spectacular (see photo).

I liked the location better than the Gray, and the service was fantastic. Check in/out was super friendly, and then housekeeper was super sweet.

Maybe it's just my preference (I tend to like the classic hotels like the Willard, Barclay, etc) but next time I come to Chicago this will be my first IHG choice.

Good to see a Baller throwing heat in the bigs

Was hoping to see Tyler pitch. Greetings from Rate field on a chilly Friday night.

See y'all at the home opener!

Hi all! We've been to Manhattan several times in the spring/summer over the last few years, but this time we're going to stay Dec 21-28 for the holiday and see all the NYC holiday stuff for the first time.

We have stayed at The Barclay three times and even though we like the Barclay we are thinking of maybe a different property this time.

I have a friend who just stayed at the IC Times Square as a Plat Amb and liked it, but I'm leery of staying in the middle of tourist hell. We're intrigued by the Kimpton Era but the rooms look pretty tiny.

Currently a Plat Amb but will likely go back to Diamond before this trip. Any opinions on these or other nicer IC properties for Christmas?

Just trying to make sure there isn't a great property we're overlooking. TIA!
