I have been on wegovy for about 3.5 yrs now. For the first time I’m having trouble with my pre authorization, more so my dr obtaining an extension. I recently asked to go up to 7.2 since I’ve been at a stand still for about a year or so. She put in a new script that was quickly denied by Caremark since I think they looked at it as an additional script not an increase in dose. Fine. I get that. So then I spoke to the pharmacist and he said that it was just too early to fill the script since I had one filled in early April. Now here I am with a prior pre authorization that expires May 8th. What do I do? I don’t think my dr is getting what I’m asking. Any suggestion on telehealth that can help with getting the pre authorization through? I did do plushcare about 1.5 yrs ago to get Zepbound approved before Caremark stopped covering it. I hate to go that route when it should really be easy to get the authorization approved again.
