How I made stuff quicker and earned more per hour in 2d animation freelancing while operating at a lower cost

I run a small freelance business in 2D animation, and one of the biggest challenges I ran into early on was balancing turnaround times with reasonable production costs.

As a smaller freelancer, there’s also less room for error when managing deadlines, revisions, and multiple clients at once.

To help with this, I started using a tool called Flicker for generating in-between frames between my keyframes.

What I liked about it was that it didn’t replace my workflow, I still controlled the key poses, timing, direction, and overall animation intent but it significantly sped up parts of the production process that normally take the most time.

Because of that, I was able to complete projects faster, take on more client work, iterate on ideas more quickly, and become more competitive while charging standard rates.

It fit pretty naturally into my existing pipeline rather than forcing me to work differently which was pretty nice

Still early tech in some ways, but I’ve found it genuinely useful for freelance animation workflows.

Flicker | Animate More

Don't have the resources or time to animate? Struggling to afford animators? Try out Flicker a new tool that does the in-betweens between your key's.

Unlike traditional tweening, this isn't interpolation, but a tool that consistently understands your style, keys, and animation with minimal input needed. Great tool for those who have great ideas but struggle to express in the form of a moving image.

I drew two rough keyframes and let AI fill in the rest and the ball somehow has weight

I drew two keyframes in sketch book, scanned them, and put them through a program called Bruce-Interp and it kinda came out ok

curious what others think?

The newly released model is called Bruce-interp and can handle up to four key-frames while also being prompt assisted.

The demo linked above features the first frame and last frame being drawn by a human, while everything else in between those key's are generated by an AI.
