Why would the Kurds attack Iran when they’ve been historically nice to them?

Iran has housed Kurds for thousands of years as a civilization melting pot with over 25 ethnicities

During Saddam’s rein of terror offered a home and a ton of Kurds voluntary defected to Iran

And the Kurds aren’t dumb. They’re an old ancient culture too. They see how they get betrayed over and over getting dangled a carrot on a stick. But I also don’t even understand the need for their own country. They’re not persecuted in Iran. Why be used as paid mercenaries and toys only to be discarded.

Genuinely what the fuck it’s so insane.

Predictions for Trump’s visit to China?

I think he’ll be operating from a position of serious weakness

  1. He’s losing in Iran
  2. Tariffs hurt U.S. consumers more than
  3. They know his approval figures are dropping
  4. He doesn’t have the strategic patience to stick to policies
  5. He’s alienated most of his allies and mid powers like Canada are looking to trade with China more

I’m surprised he’s still doing this visit to be honest

What is one geopolitical view you hold that goes against the mainstream?

I can start with a few

  1. Qatar is a much greater ally to the U.S. than they are given credit for

  2. Europe has been on the decline for the past century and the future is in the Pacific theater / Asia

  3. The U.S. would have been infinitely better off had they been allies with Iran over Israel. A resource rich, intelligent, ancient civilization with a corridor from the Caspian to the Persian Gulf and robust industry.

  4. India won’t reach its full potential like China without strong federalization
