Trying to decide if the game is for me or not before my refund window is up but I’m very confused how you’re supposed to manage controlling so many units with so many mechanics like cover and individual troop inventory, I struggle enough in total war games to utilize everything

Like (pulling numbers out of my ass) if I have 35 rifleman and an AT squad and a commissar (hate playing Germans in ww2 games) and a tank and a jeep with an MG on the back and a medic, and I’m supposed to push up and capture and hold a point, how tf do I manage that many units at once?

For reference I’m complete and total ass at company of heroes too for the same reason I just don’t know how to use all of my units effectively and predict what the enemy is going to be doing.

I understand the basics of ww2 tactics, tanks push in towards the strongest part while supported by infantry moving cover to cover protecting the tank while other infantry go around the flanks and support with grenades and taking control of buildings yadda yadda, I just don’t understand how I’m supposed to do that when I have to control every little thing individually. I did the basic infantry tutorial and winged it in a dynamic conquest thing for a bit and gave up pretty quick because I was just overwhelmed.

I have a lot of strategy game experience but not a lot in games like this, like in total war it lets me hit pause and organize my units all nice nice whenever I want, in mount and blade bannerlord my units are grouped together in large amounts so it’s much easier to manage them since it’s just 4 large groups, dawn of war the mechanics are much less complex and it’s more of a numbers game, etc.

Settlement building advice for medieval 2? Particularly as England. Like what would the ideal first construction choices to make for my first 5-10 turns?

I run out of money so fast in medieval 2. So I’m clearly doing something wrong.

Edit: also this is the only total war game I’ve really really struggled with, I’ve played most of the other ones and things clicked very fast for me, but for some reason medieval 2 is ridiculously hard for me, I can win individual battles but on the campaign front I suffer super bad

I want to be able to basically completely ignore the server for like 6 months and then come back and play an op when I feel like it without having to like react to messages in discord or make an LOA and I don’t want to have to do some training or interviews or anything like that I just want to join and play when it’s time and I’m in the mood for arma.

I also don’t really have any interest in roles like pilot or medic or tank crew or anything (which should be good that means they’ll stay open for people who want them more) I just want default guy with gun.

If a unit like this exists then cool I’ll at least check it out. If not I’ll stick to playing pubs in war of rights. I’m not asking anyone to make special exceptions for me or anything it would just be cool if units like this exist.

Also I’d prefer if there were at least already a few dozen people in the server who play. I’d prefer to stay as unrecognizable as possible, the less people there are the more likely it is people remember me and try to become friends and the more likely it is for people to talk to me directly in game.
