Just saw a line of 40 ppl for an apartment

The apartment competition is insane, feels like I’m back in 2018/2019. Half a block people lined up for an apartment in Cole Valley.

We aggressively tried to find a 1bedroom apt in NoPa/Cole Valley/Duboce Triangle (to upgrade from a tiny studio) and gave up after 6 months. There’s no way we would’ve won any of the bidding wars/competition with a dog much less a car (Kezar parking lot has a 3 year waiting list). Ended up dumping all our life savings for a small condo to stay in our neighborhood and living on the edge house poor. AI really is ruining the city’s affordability :(

Over $6/gallon here in CA

San Francisco, this is the cheapest place to fill up near us. The Costco here does not have a gas station otherwise we would make the trek down.

This gas station is always the cheapest, has the longest lines, and used to be $4.60 a few months ago. No wait this time.

We use our car for work and chose one of the most fuel efficient compact SUVs. We do not work in tech or make tech money. $9.75 toll fee too yay. There is very little reliable public transit from SF northbound, car and ferry are the only options.

Brooklyn bedding quality

Purchased my second Brooklyn Bedding signature hybrid mattress with cloud pillow top. This one feels awful in comparison to the one I bought 3 years ago: the quilting is different and my back hurts laying down after a few minutes. What happened? Has anyone else noticed a quality difference? Feels worse than a Casper mattress from Costco which is half the price.

Closed two weeks ago. Received deed in mail for the property I bought with a completely wrong name that is not mine (not a misspelling). None of the paperwork at any point had this name.

Title company did not apologize, shifted away blame, and said they don’t know what happened. They sent another notary, and filed a corrective deed, which was rejected by the county (apparently it needed more verbiage?).

It’s been silent since for two days. How worried do I need to be? I did pay for title insurance and went with my realtor’s title company. Now I’m wondering if I should have gone with the most well known title company in SF that I have connections with (my company owns them) rather than my realtor’s title company.

This just feels insane to me. My name is not on the title of the property I just paid millions for, wtf. How could I have prevented this if I don’t receive the deed until after closing?

▲ 3 r/Thuma

I’ve been trying to initiate a return with Thuma customer service, and sent follow up emails every day. The first email they responded immediately saying they would set up the return. Since then it’s no response, it’s a ghost over there. There’s only one email and no phone number. I just sent another email (the 5th follow up) saying I would do a chargeback if they don’t respond.

Very frustrating. I’ve only heard good things about Thuma through marketing/paid influencer reviews. Checked out the better business bureau and the reviews are pretty horrific when it comes to customer service. Just a warning! Wish I saw this before placing an order.

Just closed a week ago. Received the grant deed in the mail today. Deed has my name and then my fiancé’s last name, but a completely different first name. Not even a misspelling, like a completely random name.

All loan docs, offer agreement, signed vesting instructions to title company, etc have the correct name. This is the first time I’m seeing this wrong name. Freaking out. I’ve already reached out to title company, waiting to hear back. Am I going to have to get a lawyer to remove this name? Title is held as joint tenants.

We went with a reputable escrow/title company that my realtor’s team works with on every transaction. Apparently this is the first time this issue has happened, my luck :/

Spent 4 yrs living in a studio to make this happen. SF market is insane right now, but managed to break into my dream neighborhood. And if you’re wondering what 1.8m gets you… it’s a 2bed 🫠 SF real estate is up 25-30% YOY.
