Car shifts late when cold

I have a 1994 Acura Integra LS hatchback with 190k miles. My car shifts pretty bad when I first get in to drive it in the morning but starts shifting better the longer I drive it. Also when I was leaving from work I went to put my car in drive and it didn’t shift immediately it just kind of sat in a middle ground I guess kinda like it was in neutral but hasn’t done it again.
